Just had a hail/sleety shower here in Somerset with the odd flakes in it - looks like forecast wise its gonna cool down over the next couple of weeks with a minor chance of snow.

No, it was soft hail, aka graupel

Yes, it's soft hail, and that's what it was, if it was hard at around 1cm it would be more solid, this was more like tightly packed snow balls

Yep, and that's how it fell, it's to do with different temperatures effecting the precip in different levels of the Cb.

We had hail that was massive, then smaller and softer hail, then thunder and lightning, then sun.

Meant to be a bad one this year from what I've read / heard.

Hoping for an early start of white stuff and a winter like the ones we had the winter before last, and the one before that!
