They said that last year too and it was 17c on Christmas Day. I've not seen a single credible long range forecast yet so I've no idea where you got that idea from.

Colder air moving down at the end of the week (Thurs/Fri) with chances for wintry showers in northern England and certainly Scotland but it will be much cooler across the country.
