I was due for a weekend in the mountains over in Snowdonia this weekend but with the road closures and avalanche warnings decided against it.. So now I'm sat at home on the sofa feeling bored and eating bacon! At least the B&B I was staying in phoned me and offered to rearrange the date free of charge as no one could get to them!

Glad I didn't attempt to go as I've just found a pic of one of the roads I'd have been driving down..

The council has seen to resurfacing the roads with at least 5mm of salt/grit. Driving home from work this morning and you would honestly think you were driving down gravel roads. Clearly trying to use it all up!

a homebase near me was shut after there garden center roof collapsed due to snow, and that was a fair bit stronger than a perspex sheet like yours! id be worried
