It's snowing

Well that was an interesting day. At least a foot of snow, had to dig the car out at 6am this morning, followed by a 30mph maximum drive along a major A class dual carriageway which was down to one lane. Got to the end of it and the opposite direction had been closed since last night due to a HGV that had jack-knifed and taken out about 40 feet of central reservation

Managed to get in though, however at least 6 members of staff couldn't get in. Had to get a 4 x 4 vehicle out to pick them up. One person had a snow drift half way up his conservatory windows!

Drive back was fun too, within 12 miles it went from being able to see grass at the side of the road to about 2 feet deep and it is still snowing!!!

Brother rang earlier and the snow was waist deep in Brymbo (he's about 5'9 tall)

We had a bit of snow yesterday in Ayrshire, but its all gone today. Apparantly there are areas just south of us though that have it really bad. Trains and busses disrupted, major snow drifts.

Crazy how much difference such a reasonably small distance can make.

The snow they had in Cumbria isn't far off that tbh. People were trapped in cars overnight and the snow was up to the roofs, so they had to dig down to rescue them.

The Isle of Man wasn't far off either .
