The A66 was closed this morning in several places. It rained yesterday evening and then went down to -5 overnight.

7am a motorcycle went into a couple of cars, then a car hit the attending ambulance then another car hit the attending police car...

A lot of roads are still not gritted. Who'd have thought there would be any ice about? :rolleyes:

Glad I'm at home today but I'm supposed to be visiting people in the NW tomorrow

Can't say that I'm surprised though, roads haven't been gritted very well at all. Was really icy last night though, walked round to the shop for some milk and what should have taken 5 minutes took 30 much to the amusement of people watching me trying to keep upright :cool:

Been raining all day here, had a tiny bit of sleet but other than that just rain. BBC was foreasting heavy snow for now but still rain...
