It's snowing

Managed to make it into work this morning, took me 10 minutes to get from my car park to the centre of the village where I live, it should only take 3 at the most. My whole estate is one big ice rink and took me 4 attempts to make it up a short incline. It also took me 1 hour to get to work due to traffic, again it should only take me 20 minutes at the most.

if its taking you 10 minutes to walk a 3 minute distance you need to buy some boots with a decent tread on the bottom tbh.

if i try to walk around in my regular shows/trainers i would almost slip over a few times beeing careful, but when i take out my boots i can walk around as normal aslong as it isnt proper sheet ice which i doubt any area has yet because its not been warm enough for the snow to melt and then refreeze

I perhaps should have said, it took me 10 minutes in the car. There's an incline right outside my car park, then a straight hill, then a slightly twisty incline. All of this was sheet ice.

I don't know if I should believe the Met Office of where my weather gadget info is coming from.

But apparently it's currently -12 in Manchester and last night it was -14!!!!

The amount of ice around here is insane. I've spent most of the day towing people up the hill in my village, at one point there were 7 cars stuck at the bottom. It's almost completely deserted now.

Been snowing pretty much continuosly here since about 10:30. Heavy stuff with a few lulls to some finer stuff.

More than predicted I have to say, been home 4 weeks and haven't seen the green grass on the garden yet, just snow, little melt, more snow, more snow, little melt, more snow.

Gah, plus whats expected tommorrow, gonna take a while to get rid of all this.

Some pictures of a snowman I built yesterday. For size reference, I'm about 5'8" (the guy standing next to it in the first picture ;)), and I think the snowman came in just shy of 9'.

That snow man must have taken a while, me and 2 friends made a 7 or 8 foot one last year and it took us about 2 hours

Aggggghhhh!!!! We still only have 2 inches from yesterday and it's not predicted to do more than a couple of short flurries for the next week. Stupid people and your stupid snow. :( It's quite chilly here but that's about it, the roads are starting to regularly ice over as well, even the main ones which is the first I can remember for a long time.

This is in North Herts BTW, surrounded by people who seem to have 6+ inches :(

More will come, just sit tight, forecasts can change wildly, 24hours is accurate, beyond that accuracy of forecast drops off dramatically, all it needs is a change in wind direction.

Still got loads here from yesterday, the cold will mean it'll stay here for a while. Two snow says from school now :), hoping to make it a hat-trick.

I really hope. Snow is good, it's just the people that spend all their time inappropriately dressed that have problems. I'm hoping for a foot of snow so I can have some fun!:p
