does anyone know of any sort of device that can open up the gap in double glazed windows while still being on the catch? basically we don't want the cats getting out and the only option at the moment is to have the windows on the ajar catch which has an opening of about 1".

Fly net like secondary glazing. Wedged rather than fixed.

also you could have got 4:1 last week that the record got broke this year and even this morning you can get 6:1 that we break 40C this year.
