Portables aren't very efficient but proper split system is fairly efficient.
It sometimes works if you shut your curtains and windows shut, they say only open windows when its cooler outside than inside. You can buy reflective stuff for your windows, looked into it once but never bought any, don't know how effective it is.
Was out on the bike today, it was around the 30°C mark and I was shocked to see some people sat around wearing big winter coats with the hood up and one was wearing what looked like a ******* thick hooded sweatshirt under his too. They did not look healthy, they looked like they were about to drop dead of heat exhaustion. What the **** is wrong with some people?
Anyone any idea how much does a split air con unit cost to install in a couple bedrooms?
Could I put it on top of my flat (epdm/rubber) roofed extension. Tempted to shell out a couple K for it tbh.
Absolutely roasting and 31 degrees here in Stratford-upon-Avon
Blow the air over a bowl of cold waterI got that desperate to cool my lads room down that I had 2 fans going full pelt on the landing behind each other at about 3ft between them and a 3rd in his doorway oscillating cooler air in his room. I was hoping the first fan blowing cooler but still warm air into the back of the 2nd fan then that would convert the cooler warm air into a cooler air that would then be sucked in and expelled by the 3rd fan into the room with much cooler air.. no idea if it worked as the whole ******* house is a sweat pit..

Dehumidifier on the other end? That works for temporary relief, but can make things worse long term (overnight) by increasing the humidity.

I saw one lad in a zipped up black puffa jacket, with the hood up, yesterday. I think it is some sort of teen thing- the exact opposite to my refusal to wear a coat between 1986 and 1989, regardless of weather.
32c in room with my PC on playing a few rounds of PUBG.
Surprised my PC hasn't crashed from overheating, to be fair, if it survived today it can survive any.
