It's too hot :(

Worst summer I can remember!! August is going out to be a complete bust bar a few days of "Warm" weather. I don't mind a cool summer, but not wind or rain

Close to my sentiments, except I would prefer a hot summer, but since my richly deserved mild castigation by Lysander, (# 10269 above), I’ll keep my trap firmly shut!

14c wind and rain here today :( actually put long sleeves on!

I've seen quite a few winter style coats on people today, so you're not that nesh. :D

Still seeing quite a few people be determined that it's summer with their attire though. They don't look happy with their choices.

14c - still shorts & t-shirt weather, and the low end of the perfect comfortable summer temperature for me; the absolute highest being 20c

:p

As for people moaning about the weather, you're well within your rights to do so, as am I ;), but do remember that this is the UK and not the Mediterranean. As mentioned earlier in this thread, there is probably something of a north/south divide for weather with the south being considerably warmer, and while I'd never move from the south coast I do hate the horrible hot temperatures we've seen over the last few decades.

I do now however have a new portable AC unit (that probably won't get used this year ) to mitigate any future crappy hot weather :)

And not constantly moan about the weather? Something about that doesn't sit right with me. :p

I didn’t moan about the weather, I too often derided those who preferred it colder than I would like it to be, and was not unreasonably taken to task for doing so :(

16c last night still t-shirt and shorts here and it'll stay that way until october. :) I did shut the window though.

If anyone's looking for warmth a la south of france I hear kilometres of forests are burning nicely around St Tropez should give you all the heat you need!

All seemed pretty harmless to me tbh. If a mod doesn't come calling it can't be that bad. ;)

Anyway, back to the crappy weather.:D

For me the problems are all the following combined.

Lack of A/C
Hot days are usually no air movement as well so not even a breeze, there is absolutely no question a breeze makes hot weather more pleasant.
Long hot spells, so at the start things might be tolerable but when it drags on for weeks and you sleeping in sweat.

So its the combination really, I probably wouldnt mind if I always had some wind/breeze, indoor A/C and a cooling off storm twice a week.

The summer remains pleasant for me in terms of temperature, although yes grim looking with clouds etc.

I still think there is a heatwave to be had before winter arrives, these late summer push of hot air from Europe are an almost annual event now.

Afew rumbles and chucking it down, looks like a decent week though, sunshine but a cool wind direction will be up Yorkshire way most of it seeing folks, good timing with the deluge as I needed to water plants before going
