It's too hot :(

Roll on the heat!
I'll take 26c.

A guy in work struggles with the heat and spent 30 minutes telling us how unbearable he finds it and can't sleep etc and really hating this little blip in warm weather coming.

I mentioned I have 3 portable AC Units and whilst they only get used 1 or 2 weeks a year on average, they are god send to just put those on and if you want will get the room down to 17-18 degrees to the point you'd be having to put an extra Duvet on.

I wasn't quite ready for the tirade of reasons he can't use any form of solution..
- Too noisy
- Doesn't like opening a window overnight
- They might dry his throat/nose out
- They are ugly
- Would take up all the room next to his bed.
- The Mrs hates them
etc..

I just laughed.. we wheel ours out an cupboard a few times each year, then wheel it back when finished.. It's noisy, it's ugly, it takes up more room than necessary, but it's flippin effective!

I see Toolstation have a new brand of 12000BTU AC for a reasonable price (£329) - https://www.toolstation.com/12000-btu-portable-air-conditioner-dehumidifier/p83327

Forecast to be brutally hot on Friday (good, I'll be lying in the shade getting drunk in a field) but then cool off dramatically over the weekend with showers. :(

I wheeled my portable AC unit out a few weeks ago and have already used it once or twice, though only for short periods while I'm cooling down after a shower. Definitely glad I bought it, and it'll get used whenever the temps get much over 20c outside (at which point it's usually well over 25c in my south facing bedroom).

Yep, on Friday it's set for a whopping 32C in London, then on Sat 26C [which is better because I'm doing a long charity stream on that day] before plummeting to 17C on Sunday!

you sods are all lucky. rain and overcast in NI for the foreseeable future :(

It's a bit cloudy though in East Anglia, seems clear until about midday then clouds over sunny spells.

I'll take it, but not exactly clear sunshine. Seems to have been like that for a week or so now.

Pure sun here, last few days have been pretty good as well. Lovely sunshine but not stupidly humid and hot. Whole week looks good with a sea.breeze keeping a lid on the temps.

I'm going beach to beach kayaking on Thursday evening. Doing one of those slightly more risky paddles. Nothing between the beaches but sheer cliff face. But wind is low so best time to go.

Also not too hot. Can't wait.
