It's too hot :(

I love how a period of nice weather in the UK now gets called a heatwave, maybe I'm remembering wrongly but in the 90's it was a heatwave unless it was a week of temps closer to 40c

I know what you mean - no idea as to the official side of it but in the 80s and 90s upper 20s, basically anything below 30, wasn't thought of as exceptional - was when the temperatures were topping 30s for several days people started to talk about a heatwave. A few days of maybe hitting 28-29C was just regular summer.

On some models there is a chance of parts of the south east seeing closer to 40 towards the middle of the month... probably won't quite get there but potential is there.

Officially a heatwave is when you have 5 or more consecutive days of daytime temperatures well above average, doesn't matter if it's 30, 40 or 50c, if any of these are well above average it's a heatwave

I just had a 6kw aircon installed, can now keep house at 18c like I like it

The Met Office's heatwave thresholds vary in the UK between 25C to 28C, with London previously the only area to have a limit of 28C.
Most counties in the south east of England have a threshold of 27C, while many central areas of England and south-east Wales have a threshold of 26C.
Did you just paraphrase my link? :D

Did an afternoon of gardening with my ex after Polzeath yesterday , that bit of cloud helped later on ,we definitely have it milder here with no built up areas and s prevailing westerly .room is 19 c at the moment also the grass is drenched with dew (scrounged the railway sleepers on the left from a guy at the landfill)

Fortunately there is a nice breeze here - I took a nap earlier and woke up to find I'd pulled my duvet over myself but I wasn't uncomfortable under it - despite the scorching sunshine out.

I am an utter wuss with the cold ,this sort of thing is out of the question for me

I've done that once only (in the ice) it was 1 step too far for me admittedly. Ice baths though are amazing once you get used to them. Winter sea/lake swimming is great if you do it with an organised group. Once you finish you're buzzing - it's also really good for you believe it or not!

Completely understand though it's not for everyone - heck, I grew up in the Med so love the warm sea as well!

Sunscreen in the eye, is there a worse pain know to man? :(
yeah it's pretty stingy, why you always wash forehead and eyebrowse in
the shower first.

started my ride at about 9:30am and felt cool and perfect, by mid-day was feeling like i was being baked alive,
everywhere was atleast three gears easier. some of the easy hills on the isle of wight today felt like proper cat
climbs i can imagine. constantly drinking but it's not enough. fun day still :p
