It's too hot :(

Or they call themselves "retired" and therefore stuck in the past... :p

This. :D

I was edumacated at a time of pounds, shillings, threepenny bits and Fahrenheit, and while I've adapted to the ludicrocity of there being 100 pennies to a new pound instead of the more sensible 240 like it used to be, I've never got my head around Celsius, too late to learn now!

The Met Office has now issued a red warning for extreme heat on Monday and Tuesday. This is potentially dangerous and a very serious consequence of climate change. I urge Londoners to be very careful and to look after each other in the coming days.

This warning is not limited to the most vulnerable and means that substantial changes in all our daily routines will be required, and there is likely to be an impact on travel.

All of the capital’s key agencies and emergency services are working closely together to ensure London is prepared for the extreme heat that is forecast and will continue to provide advice for Londoners ahead of Monday.

Said a couple of days ago we'd be 27 and now we are getting 40 in the north east, unheard of up here really, wonder why its happening have we moved closer to the equator, said we'll be hotter than all these tropical places and slightly under Egypt on the news.

The "feels like" puts it another 2-3C hotter as well :( so for some it is likely going to feel like well over 40C even if it doesn't quite get there.

Humidity at least around where I live is looking low and little in the way of clouds so at least it shouldn't be too muggy... hopefully.

yeah the weather lord just granted us another degree too, so weird as the day after its 22 so in 24 hours it goes from 40 to 22, that in my lifetime I've never experienced such a drop, mental.

I remember it being suggested that if you tape the foil on the inside, the sun will warm up the glass twice which can cause the seals to blow on double glazing
Damn there goes that plan. Guess I’ll just cardboard cutout for each window to block the light getting in and hope for the best! I’d put cardboard on the outside but the Mrs says that’ll make us look derelict as we face a main road so would be very embarrassing :D

Pretty spot on at the moment but going to Yorkshire tomorrow ,doing a sunshade from a scrounged oak and hazel yurt top on a hangman's frame but need to get Calico or whatever to cover it ,work in progress

It's lovely and sunny in Yorkshire. :)

Anyone driving miles to a beach next few days are sad and pathetic. Struggle to park, lengthy queues for loos, food etc.

My kind of hell!
You can't struggle to park if you're within walking distance of the beach, or in my case many beaches, and you can't struggle to get food or go to the toilet if there aren't any food or toilet facilities around :p
