It's too hot :(

But by having the windows and doors open all day, you let in 35º+ air... no wonder it can't cool the house.

It's just one room. I've tried multiple methods over the years, had the AC unit a few years now. It's actually far more pleasant now that I've managed to get the old windows to open to 90 degrees and let proper air flow through during the day and only closing up and using AC in the evening.

Previously I'd have had to use AC for most of the day as it would be unbearable. The shell of the house I'm in will heat up regardless. It doesn't take long to get the hot air out of the room, it's that ability to keep it cool because the walls are emitting more heat than usual and the fact that it's still 30degrees outside that's different I believe, as it's not a tight seal to the outdoors due to the nature of it being a portable unit.

I don't have AC. I'm proper ghetto, I have an 8" USB fan sat 2' away on the windowsill of an open window blowing cool(er) air directly onto me. Even the the stand for the fan is ghetto, it's a 7.5mm WW1 shell casing.

Got the lucky end of the weather right on the east coast, was 28 with a nice cool breeze just got back from a dip in the sea if im honest a little chilly on the walk back house is a nice cool 21 inside.

Daughters school have now suggested parents pick up from 1:30PM tomorrow due to the heat. So that's my day sorted. Drop off at 8:30, walk an hour to town, volunteer at library in probably a stuffy computer room until 12, get back and go straight back out in the heat.

Do people have their windows open yet? Our rooms are about 28C but outside is still a good 33C, so open windows will just warm the house up.

I am 26c indoors windows shut all day not opening until 1am still 29c out.

All windows open and fans running overnight from windows(got me down to 21c this morning) though overnigt temp not dropping lowwer than 20c

Gonna be spicy tomorrow

wasn't too bad until I got home and put the PC, plasma TV and oven on...microwave/cold dinner tomorrow - PC and TV are mandatory :p

I've just opened ours now. Outside seems to have hit about 28, feels similar temperature outside as it does inside, so will take the chance to try and get a bit of a breeze blowing through.

Windows need to be open overnight really, even if it only drops down to 25, it's still cooler. Needs to get rid of that pent up heat from today before it starts again tomorrow.
