It's too hot :(

Anyone know much about heatwaves, is anywhere in the UK immune to them? not sure I can handle the future here if this is the new norm, maybe shetland islands will be my best bet
Friend lives in Ireland he says he never gets them. Of course thats not part of UK :(, so I guess northern Scotland?

I think western England or even northern England will probably still skip 80% of them.

Secondary fan on window ledge drew in cool air last night, which was great to cool down a 30+ bedroom, but the Honeywell fan is so much noisier than the Toatronics pedestal fan... So slept badly due to noise.

Like many I suspect, I'm like a zombie in work today, thought I'd made a fairly big mistake earlier as I'm not thinking clearly at all!

Don't knock it. That's ten degrees cooler than this time yesterday.

Yeah its better but it doesnt feel 10C cooler. Thats whats weird. I think because the room temp barely moved.

Looks like London has gone back to warmer air interestingly almost as warm as Norwich and Leicester when last night it was 3-4C cooler.

I found it difficult to get to sleep last night, but when I did drop off, I slept like a log.

I don't mind the heat, as long as it's dry and not humid. The heat becomes a problem for me once it turns humid.

yes towards the evening last night was a bit much still 32c in my place with dead calm outside so no breeze to bring in the 22c air :S

I ended up browsing the internet on my phone for 20mins because I couldn't sleep but after slept like a log.

It's meant to be 12c or so cooler now but feels about the same as yesterday and in here the thermo is still reading 30c...

27 degrees in my office at the moment which is miles better than the 31 yestersay and i can actually sit in comfort. Outside is about 24 atm with a slight breeze so much more manageable

How is heat soaked quite badly, temperature 26.5 upstairs dropped from 33 last night and 25 downstairs. Neither are dropping any further than that at the moment. Probably take a day or two to cool down to outdoor temps.

Loft hatch is open and all windows upstairs have fans in front pointing into the room.

Yep, UK homes are great at holding in the heat....:( all the buildings will be heat soaked, probably take 24-48 hours to dissipate out.

Still got my aircon on at mine, even though its cooler outside.
It's a lot cooler now so crank all those windows as wide as they go and it should start to cool down the house.
I've slept downstairs past two night. Apparently temp was only a few degrees lower but it was much less humid.

East midlands and London to be cooler at 4pm vs 1pm as hot air pushes east, Norfolk temps will go up though as normal for time of day and clear 30C on current predictions.
Storms no longer happening according to predictions for East Midlands, now just small chance of light rain. I see this again and again, they seem to really struggle to plot storm patterns inland. London still has chance of storm with heavy rain but pushed back to 7pm. The hot dry weather pattern is been stubborn.
