It's too hot :(

30c outside @ 7.30pm, aircon's going on or sleep will be something I can only dream about tonight (hah)

I think part of the problem in the UK is we only get short bursts of heat; It's too hot....oh i'm getting used to it...aaaaand its cold again.

When is it cold? Its been either baking hot or not quite so hot for the past 3 months you don't need to watch the forecast its been the same for months only the temperatures go up a bit then it goes down a bit other than that you wouldn't notice any difference.

Well some people (not me) seem very intolerant to anything not really hot and find low 20s cold.

finally dropped to 23 degrees @9:30pm had my aircon going most of day set to a chilly 18-22 degrees stepping out of my room into the landing was horrid and going out to get ice cream was even worse, safe to say i rushed to get back and then cool back down, hopefully one more day to go at +30 degrees and then roll on monday i hope it thunders and rain's like hell

Have you got some health problems? Doesn't seem normal behaviour otherwise to be honest!

Apparently Sunday will be slightly cooler, Monday some storms and the west of England lower temps. East of England if lucky might get the lower temps on Tuesday, although only down to 23-25C not to 18C same as west.

11:40pm, all windows, doors and loft hatch open. Moths loving my laptop; me loving the cool breeze wafting through the house. So it's only... er... 25C in here. As soon as I shut up shop it's still going to be toasty. Another night for the fan and waking later with a chilled arm/leg/random appendage.

One more day, hopefully. Then it's over... for now. And in a few months time I'll be sat here with three jumpers on, trying to save money.

At least I'm prepared for possible thunderstorms now. Gutters cleared to minimise overspill. Recycling bin's empty for additional rain collection. Hose connector attached to one water butt overflow, for filling the bin. Small holes dug around the garden for tipping buckets of water into if everything fills up. Much of rest of garden lightly forked to break up the surface and aid absorption.

Clearly it won't rain now until February. But I hope not. I can only imagine the pain farmers are going through across most of the country.

43c at work today, this can **** right off.
Christ where do you work!?

They really need to introduce safe working temperatures with this kinda heat. My last two jobs were a supermarket at night in the chillers and a uni library with awesome AC. Dreading starting work in a hospital in a few weeks.

Nearly midnight. Help.

I'm a chef.

28-32 is normal (basically 10-15c over whatever the outside temp is). It's also 80%+ humidity which is lovely. I've seen 53c air temp before, although not at my current workplace.

Really is going to be a year of extremes for me, these summer heatwaves and then later in the year we're off to Banff in Canada for our usual December/January break and the long range winter forecast for Alberta just got released and the prediction is a record breaking cold one with temps between -40 and -45 at its lowest.
