It's too hot :(

How on earth do you sleep in that kind of heat?

We've had our portable AC going in the bedroom since 2pm and it's got it down below 20ºC now, but as soon as we turn it off (too loud to sleep with), the rest of the house (currently sat at around 24ºC on various thermometers) will just heat the room up again :( almost a waste to run it.
Got used to it. Remove duvet and just use a top sheet. I work nights so the 29 tonight is easy. Bedroom is 32-36 highest I've seen when im asleep 1000-1630. Winter its 18-22 . Well insulated house.

I hope it’s super cold this winter. I mean, like -10 and snowing so much they can’t get out of their house and no one can get to them. And then their boiler breaks down and the pipes freeze up. Then if they come on here moaning about being too cold I’ll laugh my ******** off!
Won't happen. Winters like that are thing of the past only old 'uns remember anything like that hasn't been seen in these parts in an looooong time.

Our house doesn’t seem to shed the heat at all once it’s built up through the day, and our bedroom is south west facing, so we get the sun blasting in through the big bay windows throughout the afternoon. Dunno what the temp is right now, but just given up trying to sleep and came downstairs so that my side of the bed can cool down a bit. We also have a Tempur mattress which doesn’t seem to help either, damn thing seems to just retain the heat once it gets hot too.

It won't do if its insulated well. Need to stop the heat getting in and then the insulation is your friend but in this country it mostly turns houses into ovens because we don't have external shutters etc.

26c in our bedroom at 5am this morning, and 24c downstairs. Oof.

Waking up to room temp of 27c don't know how I slept through it, might look into getting portable AC unit for days like this , look for deal over winter on one ? So ready for next year

I nearly bought one after last years horrendous summer, but they just seem so loud. I struggle to sleep with even a fan on low.

They are very loud indeed. You'd have to be a fairly heavy sleeper to get through a night with it running. It's not even a constant hum, as when the room is down to temperature you'll hear it cycling on and off. The compressor and condenser fan kicking in practically doubles the volume.

Yes!

Westher forecasts now showing over a week of mid twenties sunshine from next Wednesday. Fingers crossed the forecast is true. Let’s have a nice sweltering few weeks before the autumn hits

they're quite loud. What we do with ours is leave it in the bedroom to cool it down to say 17c and then we go to sleep... because there's no sun it takes a while to heat up the room again. I couldn't sleep with one. I do also have a meaco fan which is epic and I can sleep through that, so ac + fan combo and we're set.

Given you like it minimum of 23 in your home then, if this happens to you, you'll just shrivel up and die

That's the main reason I hate the warm weather. Just really difficult to sleep, I feel like death warmed up today due to lack of sleep. West facing bedroom but lounge/kitchen is South facing so heats up quite a lot in general.
