It's too hot :(

Still warm here but much cooler after some spectacular storms in Suffolk. After a while trying, I finally managed to capture a lightning strike

Good picture. I wish I'd got my camera out the night before as it was like watching a strobe effect as there were so many in such a short space of time.

I needed a wider lens that I just don't have yet. But as you say, the rate of strikes was astonishing. This one was a 30 second exposure (f/22 ISO 50), and I had plenty of other shots that simply had too many strikes in them, especially those in the clouds, that the image just looked like a load of flash guns going off with no definition.

Nature defies all

Ah good one. Lightning strikes are one of my most satisfying images to capture, along with the Milky Way and Aurora. ;)

Tiny bit of rain now. But my 9000btu has only just leveled all the heat out of the room. Takes a good hour or so but once it has its a nice level. Dread the leccy bill

OK, not normal. It has rained twice now for a bit and it's hotter than it was during the day! :(

Wait, me hears more lightning and maybe more rain please.

.
We went with a professional aircon install for the house back in March when there wasn’t a waiting list and increased prices because everyone wants it fitted last week. A split inverter system with 3 units. Right now, it’s the best money I’ve ever spent and will also heat in the winter.

We haven’t even changed the high tog duvet - it’s blissful. kitchen/living around is currently a cool 19c

This is definitely the way to do it. What are the noise levels like? Portable unit gets the job done for the bedroom at least but its noisy AF

Worse nights sleep ever :( must have managed 30 mins tops i would have slept outside if i had a garden :p windows wide open the indoor temps has dropped thankfully 4 degrees in 6 hours too a more bearable 26c
