It was decided by general consensus that this wasn't the best idea. Skywalker can contact the paper if he see's fit. It is, afterall, a very private matter. The fact that we have chosen to invade it by the thousands is neither here nor there :P

There's a difference between faceless charities and your next door neighbours. Given so, it's not really our choice. I believe Gilly spoke to Skywalker about it anyway.


Edit: Just out of curiousity, would it be possible to get a count of individual transactions? Would be kind of interesting to know :)
 
Im totally amazed at what you guys have done for us here and thank you all from the bottom of my heart .

In regards to the dog as I said it was just an idea at the end of the day and didnt mean to make anyone start argueing - As far as were looking at the moment it would be after her operation and I have had someone to come and price up a fence and there so expensive :eek:
 
I was going to donate on Friday when I got paid but as the money will not be going towards medical bills I will not be donating, the whole donation was to help the girl medically not financially.

I still wish you the best of luck with her heath and future operations.

Just glad we could help such a sweet little girl out, just a shame it wasnt in the way we all hoped.

Still, we are still waiting the pics of you in the pink playhouse :D

Then it turned into a thread about just generally helping them out? as there all going to be out of work....so any money to help out was appreciated, everybody knew this and yet the donations carried on being sent.
 
It's his choice, to be fair. Shouldn't have to donate to a charity out of guilt, but because you believe in the cause and the result of your donation. It's fair enough if he doesn't. Plenty of other people did :)

Absolutely, but at no point in this thread does it say what the money is to be used for. We were hoping to speed the process up, but can't. So it is to improve the all-round situation that we aim for. Those trying to dictate what the money is to be spent on can go and jump :)
 
The money raised would'nt have necessarily been used ONLY for medical bills as the total would (and has I believe?) outwieghed that amount. The money is for any way possible of making their lives easier... and is a completely voluntary donation in no way engineered by Skywalker but by the goodwill of the forum, specifically Gilly. If you dont want to donate then the last thing you should be doing is making some "zomg my moral conscience forbids me from donating now, have a good day" post. If you don't want to donate then stop attention-seeking and simply don't post!

There is NO reason for ANY negativity in this thread!

What, I have not read every page and there is so much going on that its hard to know what the money was/is being spent on, my original thought for donation was because of this post http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11778886&postcount=30, I only brought it up because I said I would donate around the 29th then things changed and I did not want people to think I was being two faced.

I am no way trying to gain attention. I think its brilliant thousands of people donated off the cuff and its great that everyone donated is glad the money is helping the skywalker family out.
