Lol so did I! Really good photography app that is, quite surprised its included in this tbh.
I would imagine nearly everyone has Angry Birds, plus the ad supported version is free anyway.
Still, downloading the 12 Days app doesnt give you anything exclusive, it just points you at stuff that's already free, kind of pointless
No it doesnt - vast majority has been put to free just for that day - it may end up being free for longer (overlaps days) because its just easier for Apple to update pricing like that...

I really don't understand this moaning, APPLE ARE GIVING YOU THINGS FOR FREE THAT YOU WOULD OTHERWISE PAY FOR. Just because you don't like some of the freebies still doesn't change the fact that they're free and someone else might like them.
It's not pointless at all it be loads better if they gave you some exclusive stuff, a proper reason to download the all, like I said, all it does it direct you to free stuff on the iTunes/AppStore, stuff that anyone else can get without the app

Maybe a better thing would be to give everyone a free 69p app download one day and then a free 99p mp3 etc. Then people can choose something they might want. I doubt many on here got the one direction download today 
I haven't been bothered by any of it so far (already had snapseed when it was free once before) and although the songs might have been ok they've been long dance remixes and not the originals so that limits the audience a bit too.

I think what is annoying everyone (including me) is, they took the time to download an app assuming they'd be privvy to some pretty cool stuff, like a paid app for free out of the Top 25 something similar.
Uh? Downloading the app took seconds and it saves me time. You say you don't need the app. No, you don't. But, it saves you time by taking you direct to the free item of the day.
Unless you have hours of spare time to trawl for the free item of the day (which clearly you don't as you're moaning at the mere seconds it took you to download it) then the app does exactly what it was designed to do.
I don't see any valid reason in your argument, the app is simply to save you time getting free gifts which Apple are generously offering.
You gain a notification every day with a link to the free item.
We already established that it saves the time, but you don't gain anything extra as someone who doesn't have the app can also download the same stuff, there's no exclusivity.
