iTunes 7

I really like it, except it's stopped playing through my back speakers. I'm sure the last version did, and I know WMP does. I've looked through the menus but can't find a way to play it through all my speakers. :(

I find crap to be honest.
I can play some songs, then 20 minutes down the line the songs sounds all screchy and jumpy. Think I will stick with WMP.

I'm really loving the new version, but I'm also getting the terrible skipping and break up. I tried running Warcraft while it was playing and it went mental, speeded up, white noise, really bad. It also skips everytime another sound plays on the pc, like msn pings etc.

I checked for new drivers from creative, but there's nothing new there. Looks like I'm screwed till they fix it.

/sadface

Edit: Argh now that it's updated my library file I can't downgrade, and I'm only getting stereo instead of 5.1 :(

Mine done this terribly but I believe it's just iTunes settling down with your music collection. Give it a few more hours and it should be fine :)

The album artwork thing seems to be dodgy doesn't seem to work, mind you almost of my mp3s are rips off my own cds so wonder if this is a reason. I found the sound skipped on a song I was playing whilst I was browsing the movies part of itunes.

Does yours also play in 5.1 and work with full screen apps?

Flicking through the cover browser sends it sky-high.

iTunes 7 is balls.

I had 6.2 + Quicktime Alternative. Uninstalled QA, installed iTunes 7. Ran QA installer, which uninstalls Quicktime.

Go to open iTunes 7... it won't work without the provided QT. Great.

It took ages to install, too. The only plus so far is that it looks really nice.

Oh well, I cba to fix it now. I'm reinstalling Windows onto a new HDD when I get a new CPU in a few weeks so I'll put up with it until then.

No I'm 2.1 (aego M's) But it doesn't matter now as iTunes is still doing it, It's driving me MAD...I wanna scream right now! No matter what even if I'm scrolling through a website that's loading it'll make the music go awful! Everything triggers the music to **** up! I went from iTunes to firefox and it done it and I don't know if I can cope with it much longer  God I'm fuming. What sound card do you have? I'm using a Creative Audigy 2zs, so maybe there's a link somewhere?

EDIT: Here's a video of what it does, not the best of quality but you can still hear it. When I'm on the red page it starts jumping/skipping and on the OcUk page it actually messes up :( (Skip the first few secs when I'm finding an album)
iTunes 7

Itunes was working fine for me up until this morning. Now I'm getting the crackling, screeching, distortion that everyone else seems to be getting.

One fix is going into quicktimes audio settings and change the frequency to 48Khz, size 16bit and in there you can also set your speakers to 5.1.

This worked for a short time but as soon as I load up wow or have more than a couple of windows open Itunes doesn't like it and goes back to the screeching.

This thread might be able to help Click Me but just looking at the Apple itunes forums shows that a lot of people are having the same problems.

Hopefully Steve is working on an update.

I'm a bit upset about it as I spent 6 hours loading in ablum art and tidying up 80GB worth of music.

Yeah I'm using the same card, the real kick in the nuts is the updated of my library, so now I can't even roll it back to 6.3.

Maybe there's a link there then. It's driving me up the wall! I can't even listen to my music + browse the net as it'll start to go funny

The problem I have now found with iTunes is that it keeps restoring the ITunes folder on the start menu, it just seems too controlling for my liking, normally I have a Multimedia folder which has WMP, iTunes, ect.

It just keeps restoring it no matter what I do, I really hope this is changed soon.

With regard to the scratchy sounding music, I've only had this once but I just tried it whilst doing other tasks and it seemed to be fine. This all just seems so unlike Apple as with the faults people are finding, it’s almost like it isn’t finished - which is sort of what I have come to expect from Microsoft.

Edit - This is just stupid now, with the iTunes folder on the Start Menu, there doesn't even need to be anything in the iTunes folder as long as that folder is there even if it's empty! Whats the point in that?!

I've never had a problem with iTunes but how could they miss this "scratchy" sound bug? It's nod as if it's a small bug!

I'm getting none of these problems. I am:

listening to iTunes
Browsing 5 forums in 5 tabs
Downloading
Running CovertXtoDVD
Have Thunderbird checking my mail every 2 mins
Running AV software

My music sounds fine. The only problem I have is that I still can't get sound from my back speakers.

Exactly my thoughts! Why do people wonder why Apple rules the digital music scene? iTunes is simply fantastic, WMP11 looks so pathetic compared to it. I wondered why there was no "Music Videos" library

WTF?! It keeps happening! My tracks keep scratching and skipping and sometimes they go fuzzy and messed up (all of them) so I have to restart iTunes? Also......

I was getting the same problem, so I rolled back to v6.

I got it every single time another program had sound, so everytime WMP was open, every time I hit a webpage with sound, every time a person signed in on MSN, it would crackle.

had one problem so far, when using the album art browser view thing I was quickly skipping through the images when all of a sudden the scren went funny, kinda like a graphics card problem, then after 20 secconds the screen recovered and itunes was saying that the album art is no longer available :(

don't think its a overheating problem or a graphics card problem as i'm stressed the laptop a lot harder in games etc, so can only put it down to an itunes problem , or possibly a graphics driver problem.
