iTunes 7

I've also reverted to a version 6 Itunes, this new version is complete pap, it looks horrible, I hate the new blue icon it forces you to have and I can't run WMP alongside Itunes and it Itunes starts seriously going hay-wire as soon as you open it or if you surf a website that is playing a movie advert for instance.

Proper crap from Apple, very disappointing

Lets keep this on topic please, this thread is about the current problems with iTunes 7 not a ******* contest about which audio player is the best.

I haven't had any of the mentioned issues, and i'm on Win x64! Most happy :)

...Just glad it's finally supported, oh and I quite like the changes.

i keep getting this:

*snip*[IMG]

I am on my back up pc so only have 3 albums but it should still work. Had to get the album art myself 2, dont want no itunes a/c
Is the new Evanescence Album available to buy on iTunes as i have it pre-ordered but it's not due for release until 2/10

Does anyone have an issue where their itunes desktop icons are odd looking (look a bit like a couple of photos on A4). Are they supposed to be like this, as my taskbar one changes to a blue itunes symbol when I open itunes?

I've also noticed the slow album artwork browsing. I really want to use the feature but:

-I have adjust my mouse wheel scroll speed to 1 line if I want to cycle through album covers one at a time.

-some artwork is never displayed unless i'm directly over the item in the album viewer. So I get a lot of blank ones if I scroll through rapidly. Seems a bit more fluid if I reduce the size of the viewer though.

Yeah I have 147 albums and when browsing the album artwork one by one it shows up quick. However, when I try to quickly go to a certain album it takes a good few seconds befor all the album artwork is shown for the album and the other albums you can see around it. Methinks this new version is just a beta for us to try out!

The CoverFlow view looks swish but it's a bit of a novelty. Hybrid view + browser is where it's at.

You can get a plug-in for iTunes to route the actual audio through a nicely configured Foobar to preserve sound quality. It doesn't support iTunes 7 yet, but it's only a matter of time. iTunes 7 does sound noticably worse than my Winamp configured to use ASIO but apart from that it's a lovely piece of software.

how does that work then  they say it outputs directsound to foobar..from what i can gather. do you have to have both running then? semms a strange way to do it. It'd be a lt easier if itunes itself did asio.

its confusing me anyway. foobar taking a DS input and then outputting thru a kernal streaming plugin wont help sound quality. If anything direct sound on its own from itunes would be better....its a myth that foobar is a better sounding player. its all down doing as little with the input audio as possible.

having a bit of a problem with my itunes 7 at the mo.. was fine when i installed it yesterday apart from taking freaking ages to load all my music+playlists, though today as soon as i open another window on my computer to actaully do anything else the song slows down and goes kinda gritty. ok so not the best description but you get the idea i'm sure.

any ideas? thinking i might just go back to the last version.

I've done the Get Album Artwork thing, but for some reason it's only copied artwork that I manually added to my iPod rather than all the artwork it spent ages DLing.

Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure the Foobar process is instructed to read the original file rather than having the audio piped over from iTunes. You don't have to launch both applications yourself - it simply has foobar2000.exe running as an invisible application, so it's transparent to the user.

And it's out. Your custom Foobar sound quality ~ iTunes UI quality. :)

Working beautifully, on all speakers and no problems with full screen apps, and to me it sounds much much higher quality.

Thanks a lot for the hookup.

Edit: I just have to say how beautiful this sounds compared to itunes, its crisp clear and yet amazingly warm. Love it.

I reckon there will be a update soon. I found a bug when you acess the equalizer the sounds goes a bit funky, but it seems to be working again - strange. I like the look of it too, it's still the best mp3 player out there. ;)
