I've Had Enough!

£5 a week still mounts up, it'll take you months.

Just think about other things, your health, kids if you have any / plan to.

There is not 1 single benefit smoking gives you, it only helps kill you.

I like smoking on a night out. And £5 a week isn't enough to worry me...money isn't a major problem right now. Health is basically the only argument (and a big one, granted :p). And why would planning to have kids affect my smoking habit right now lol? I'm 20, I plan to have kids at some point in my life, but not for a long time, and I don't plan on smoking for the rest of my life...but right now, I'm liking it so I'll continue.

Don't quote me on this, but doesn't it screw up the tadpoles and make them do a homer?

Gilly how can smoking be great? Its like saying "oh look a speeding train, lets park my car in front and see what happens"

It is very hard to stop smoking, tried myself a few times and failed.

I want to but, when the boredom kicks in thats you.

Decided I am going to stop though as from today, why I don't know but after reading the OP it make sense not to smoke.

Good luck.

Do you smoke?

Smoking is enjoyable, nothing better to chill you out.

i gave up several years ago and dont regret it.........
one day just decided to give up, went out and bought the most repulsive cig's i could find and smoked them one after the other until i felt nauseous, it helped fix my mind on quitting.
the biggest problem in the first few months of quitting was the social side with friends, they would offer you a ciggie and the temptation for "just one" is quite strong..get through that and its plain sailing, noticing the awful smell off smokers in my work enviroment also helped :)
good luck

I've started but I've no idea why. I don't think I'm quite into the addiction stage yet.
I usually go for one when out in the pub and the alcohol has numbed my resolute, or when I feel low. My ability to trivialize the fact that any one of those inhalations might cause my cells to mutate and become cancerous amazes me.
I really do need to knock it on the head.

I have cut down a lot recently no longer smoke at work so only 2... or so a day now. I perfer it to going totally cold turkey but rather than smoking randomly there are a few certain times of the day when I have one so I figure if I can cut down slowly it will be better than quitting, going crazy and starting again.

Pretty much the same.

Gone down from 10 a day to around 2-3.

Almost appreciate em now when i have one...:p

My girlfriend's Dad stopped smoking one Monday about 4 weeks ago. Just said out of the blue, that's my last Cigarette. So we all laughed at time..

He still hasn't touched a Cigarette.

GGood Luck..

My grandma also stopped in the same way. Just said one day that that's the last and it really was. I don't smoke so don't know what cravings feel like but it must take a tremendous amount of will power to do that. Didn't help her though as she still died of various forms of cancer anyway :(
