I've just watched the Premier League Champions elect at Anfield

Im still not certain if Adebayor is an average player who had a good start to the season or if he is a good player going through a bit of a slump.

Im having the same problem but leaning towards the first option. They do say form is temporary, class is permanent and since Adebayor's form has dropped he hasn't had much class to fall back on.

You can look as deep as you like but a goal is a goal and all his goals away from home (possibly except the Marseille gaol, although it was important at the time) have directly affected the outcome of the games.

It's one thing scoring goals when your side are 3-0 up and another actually winning games for your side.

I've said all along that Adebayor is a "good" player. Not a bad player, nor a great one. Just "good" and certainly worthy of his place in the squad. He has a terrific first touch, tremendous workrate, and a habit of scoring in the big games. But he will never be a genuine top drawer 'world beater' player.

In the years I've been following Arsenal we've always had at least one top quality striker (Smith, Wright, Bergkamp, Henry...) and this is the first year where we don't - RvP isn't quite there yet and even if you consider him to be, he's been out injured half the time.

Still, it's not all doom-and-gloom as the following have improved or debuted well this season:

-Flamini
-Hleb
-Adebayor
-Sagna
-Clichy (not necessarily improved that much but still top class)
-Eduardo (seemed to be finding his feet and then got injured)

Id much rather have Tevez. Although i do really admire Torres, Tevez is just more suited to us in my opinion.

Strange you say that, most people would describe Tevez as a hard working type of player, who someone like Benitez would love in his team, a la Kuyt except not crap. Whereas Torres has everything United are all about: pace, skill and goalscoring ability.

tevez does have a bit of skill you know heh. he's not exactly a hoofer :p

Kind of, although Tevez has those attributes too (although not quite as much pace) and I just love how he holds the ball up, Id never want to lose that.

He's scored ~20 goals in a season where he had no pre-season at all (due to injury and transfer) and gets dropped into midfield for a 4-5-1 (or not played at all).

You go on about Tevez' finishing when Torres misses a shed load of chances every match? I'd say they're equal, Tevez is stronger and better with the ball, Torres is faster.

more than half of which were tap-ins, if we're being serious any forward with 2 working feet could get at least 10 goals a season with the chances Utd are creating.

it's torres first season and he's still very young, it's not like he gets the kind of service he would at Utd either.

you would swap tevez for torres in a heartbeat and you know it.

Well you're all in denial then ;)

Torres would have outscored Ronaldo had he been in your side and the way in which he plays would have benefited Rooney too. Torres stretches defenders and that would give Rooney plenty on space between the back 4 and midfields to play in, which Gerrard has been benefiting from of late.

oh yeah look at us, look how we're suffering without torres, look how we aren't doing well at all.

how well we'd do with torres is all ifs and buts, how well we're currently doing with tevez is a matter of fact.

Nobody said you were struggling without Torres but you would be in an even better position had you had him as he's miles ahead of Tevez and would fit into your side :p

god liverpool fans love to have a marquee player that they can say is better than anyone else heh. Tevez has fitted into our side a treat, torres is very good but i'm not crying over missing out on him.

Im not asking you to cry dan, just accept facts :p

And you'll find that it was a Manc that first mentioned it and good on him too.
