Ive upgraded CPU 3 times in 4 years, what to upgrade to now?

not much love for Intel in here?? yet the 13900K is the fastest gaming cpu right now. The V 3D chips may or may not close the gap but nobody knows for sure yet. In this vid the cpu's are set up similar 5.5mhz cpu and 6000mhz mems, Some games can benefit from faster memory especially where the FPS are high. With this in mind considering 13th gen intel can stretch its legs to 8000mhz and beyond, pairing with a 4090 i wouldn't want anything else. But your not going to tell much difference with either. Me personally i'd always go with the Nvidia/Intel pairing over the AMD side.

No upgrade path of the 13900 and chipset.

AM5 will have another set of CPUs' on the same platform, if not 2 more.

if its close enough which I expect it will be I would go x3d and its still has zen5/ x3d to come on the same platform and maybe more ?

I think there is to be fair, probably quite a few of us waiting for next gen as we pumped so much into current platforms. Not sure what % of blue teamers will jump ship to AM5, fair few i guess? Meteor Lake looks a good bet now DDR5 has had a bedding in period, that's my next move.

cannot find a mobo that can handle the 5950 but have at least 6 sata ports and 2 m.2 slots, and also covers a 4090 3.5 slot, leaving 2 pcie slos left over for my wifi 6 AX adaptor and an internal sound card

very difficult

also the new 7950x3d, is that new motherboard like AM5?
