I believe the diff, if any, is small; the i7 would not be a good choice given you are paying another £80 for very little. Not much has been said about it today but the full range includes S and T parts some of these will be better. Plenty of slides were around last year.However,the main issue is this - the £160+ Core i5 3570K uses a lower clocked HD4000 IGP which means it will be worse for HTPC usage,and the rest of the Core i5 range will use the even worse HD2500 IGP..

Yes, the HD4000 is well worth having and it's probably the only reason to go IB to be honest but if you're not playing games I would expect media playback to be OK with the HD2500.
This, can't argue with that.It is a fail. Going from 32 to 22 nm should increase maximum clock speeds and reduce temperatures, but neither of those have happened.
