Morning!

I think it's time for one of these with the recent surge of new owners on the boards. I've wanted to ask a few questions lately and rather than keep bumping my "New car" thread, I figured this would be a good place. And with the new owners, I'm sure I won't be the only one in this position.

So I'll start, owner of a 10 plate 3.0L XF Luxury, and absolutely love it. Had the car about a month now and done far too many miles in it already, but it's a case of any excuse to drive at the moment :p Got a trip up north, near 300 miles soon which I can't wait for especially given some of the roads when I get near there.

Currently got a 2.2 2012 loan car, which I'm really not keen on actually (despite the improved interior), I'll put up a review why later with some nice pics.

So Jag owners unite, show yourselves and let's see those lovely cars!

Awaiting delivery of my 09 plate Premium Luxury later this week :D Very excited!

Its the 3.0 S model. I am reserving my place in this thread, pics to follow when I get it!

I can't wait to say to the Mrs, "Shall we take the Jaaaaaag today?"

Are there any "plug in" module types that could be removed for the service, or are they wise to this sort of tech?

I don't know to be honest. What I do know that if the cars went into service with a bog standard 'remap' - i.e. a custom calibration software flash into the PCM (or ECU), it would be traceable by the tool used in service.

Having messed around with different calibrations on a standard 3.0l TDV6 on pretty much all the JLR car lines (non 'S' on Jaguar), I would recommend caution as the driving experience is affected. The 'S' variants have different calibrations for the ABS and TCM, as well as different ABS hardware.

There's other things, but I don't want to bore anybody.

There are a few plug in tuning boxes but all of them are rubbish apparently, either because they barely add anything or they cause a number of issues and have a habit of putting the car into limp home mode

So these are the 3 Jag Xf's I've owned over the last 2 years

1st was a 3.0D S PL with B&W, Reversing Camera, Blind Spot Monitor, Aero Kit, and sports interior. Main reason for getting rid of it was the truly awful headlights. I might as well have stuck a kids torch out the window for as much good the headlights did...

2nd was a 5.0 SC XFR, with every option except the sunroof, heated wheel and the garage door opener. This fell to bits but I loved its power, looks, spec and the way it drove

Current one is a facelifted 3.0 DS PL with the camera kit but otherwise standard, but its a much higher basic spec than the original one I had.
