Jaaaaaag Owners

Thanks, just rang the dealership after seeing your comment, can't fit me in until January so they're sending someone from LR assist to inspect the car today, a bit OTT but saves me giving it to a local tyre shop :D

At least they are getting someone out to you but that's really bad they can't fit you in till January, I find that most bizarre

Been looking at the 5.0 F types, they seem like an utter performance bargain. What’s wrong with them?
The only gripes I had with mine was the central screen (really bad in sunlight) otherwise it was enormous fun to drive and super comfy for long road trips.

They're a bit heavy and do have a strange disposition of not quite super agile sports car and not quite super luxurious grand tourer. The 5l V8 sound puts a massive smile on your face and the handling is not terrible though.

Recently I received the typical annual call from some Jag service centre saying the F Type MOT/Service was due (I keep telling them I sold it) and was reminded how much I missed it!

If it's any use I bought a MY18 SVR roadster last November and it's an epic car, my only real gripe being the squeak that the seatbelt guides make.

It's definitely no go kart in the twisties but still bags of fun to be had. I wanted a V8 roadster, so slim pickings anyway, but it blows a Mustang away across the board, is much more modern feeling than an R8 for the same money and is more alive than the few AMG GTSs I drove.

Supercar rivaling performance, great looks, great tourer, and that soundtrack...

Granted it's not what I did but you can get earlier V8 S models with decent miles for 30k these days and that's 4s to 60. As you say, quite an attractive proposition.

Joined the Jaaaaag club with an XF V8. The only thing is it’s very quiet. Anybody recommend some rear back boxes. I just need a dirty rumble not a popping banging monster.

Hmm on a Jag this requires a very delicate balance to not ruin the car.

There is a specialist exhaust manufacturer in Basildon called Hayward and Scott, they have done a lot of rally exhausts for pro-drive and specialise in classic, high end and bespoke vehicles. They also do one off designs.

I had a new pivi pro software download the other day......... the most obvious change - which i didnt see mentioned in the change notes

with the old software in stop start traffic with adaptive cruise on , if you were stationary for more than a few seconds it engaged park and would not disengage until you touch the accelerator, where as now it seems to happily sit there for as long as needed and will then resume on its own when the holdup clears. i much prefer it this way so its a positive change for me.

They're like buses, nothing for over a year then 2 in a week, 4.1.1 installing now

Hi all,
I really like the look of the F-Type and I have started doing some research on things but just wondering if any of the knowledgeable people in here could help point me in the right direction in terms of spec I should be looking at.

I really like the look of https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-de...=br29pg&price-to=65000&year-from=2019&fromsra

Is 2021 too old, or is the spec at the right level for that price etc?

It doesn't say too much about the spec.

If it were me Id be wanting to make sure it's got the meridian sound system which this does, and looks like it's got Apple and android car play.

If you like the look and age and price then seems like the spec is enough.

I personally don't like black wheels on black cars (I don't really like black wheels at all tbh)

Jeremy clarkson and a few other journalists reckon the v6s is the optimum f-type in terms of being an all rounder. But this was more for buying new. If you can swallow the running costs of the V8 then why not.

Thanks for the reply, cheers for the information. I quite like the black on black I think but would like to see it in person. I do need to do some more research into the v8 running costs definitely!
Facelift won’t get a V6. It’s a detuned 450PS which I think that one is. Decide which headlights you prefer first is my advice, facelift also gets the TFT cluster rather than dials.
Yes I did notice that, I think I want the v8 :D

I definitely prefer the facelift all round!
