January Transfer Rumours

Brilliant news for us Arsenal fans.

Onwards and upwards!

Should you really be celebrating the signing of a reserve team player? Maybe celebrate in a couple of years time if and when he hits the big time, watch out for the Dyer effect - looks fantastic as a lower league teen and average as a mid 20 prem player!

I'd much rather we spent that money on a good defender and A.N.Other to be honest. Unless of course Wenger still has some cash to spare it seems stupid getting a player in where we have plenty already in his position who probably won't even get to the first team for a couple of years.

I think it was simply a matter of striking while the iron is hot in Walcott's case, as he'd have simply gone somewhere else if we'd waited until the summer. As for money, we've still only spent what we got from the sale of Vieira last year, so Wenger not completely out of pocket yet.

I do agree that I'd like to see a proven defender brought in though, preferably central but left-footed to help us out now that Cole has re-injured himself.

Good news with Walcott anyway though, I hope he does good things for us. :)

Congratulations to Walcott.

He's got the perfect opportunity to make the most of his potential now by signing for a club that gives youth a chance with the finest manager in the country.

I really hope his career continues along the same path it has done so far.

Would have been great to keep him, but who could blame him for making this move! :)

Sorry to dig up an old subject, but ive been out all day and unable to reply. :)

...and with Milan they aren't known to be a high scoring teams...
Ordinarily i'd agree. But with the way we've been doing this season for goals, goals definatelly arnt a problem. We've got some crazy stat like 15 goals in 4 games for us!

Sheva really is known to score in the crunch games, whenever a big game comes for Milan he is the one they look to and he rarely lets them down.
I agree. When he's needed, his game raises significantely.
I think thats what sets him apart from the other top strikers (RvN, Raul, Henry & Eto'o). While they are all good and unique in their own right, at the moment Sheva is the striker who can literally turn a big game on its head when Milan arnt doing well going forward. Dont get me wrong, im not saying that the others cant, they can, (bar Henry, he just goes missing), but they dont consistantly do it. Look at Milan vs Utd last season. If RvN 'upped' his game, they would have qualifyed for the next round instead of Milan. But he didnt.
And i know what your gonna say 'It was his first game since he got injured'. But Sheva played against Fenerbache, Injured, with his ankle in strapping, hobbled for a lot of the game, told Carlo not to take him off based on his injury, and went ahead and set a new CL record.
That, imo, is why at the moment, he is the best in the world. He wont consistantly be. But imo, for the next 2-3 seasons he will be.
Imo of course.

I think the reason some people don't rate him is because he is very reliant on people creating chances for him so he can put them away. When Man utd's playmakers go through a bad spell Ruud's bad spell seems to come at the same time.
I agree, he does need service to score, but regardless, he's shown that he's slowly adapting to life without the haircut crossing him the ball. :p
Which shows his class imo. Adaptability.

Rarther than quoting what Jazz has put for everything else, i'll sum up my reply: I agree.

Should've nicked 16 off Flamini and given it to Walcott

Yeah because all the people who had a Flamini shirt would have been well impressed with that, as I'm sure he would.

It's the same number as he had at the Saints. There are a few numbers up for grabs next season.
