January Transfer Window 20/21

Absolutely phenominal player but Arsenal never built a team around his talents and he was never the sort to lead a team. Far too much was expected of him with far too little support.

He wasn't good enough for the premier League,else he would have had options in the league

Few clubs could afford his wages, hes 32 and Arsenal probably didn't want to sell him to any of their rivals who would actually want to buy him. One of the best players in the world on his day.
 
Other than a few good seasons I don’t think Ozil really suited us. Far too many times he was lazy and wouldn’t put in the effort.
He was also easily bullied around when he had the ball.

But I can’t fault him for his professionalism even after he was frozen out the last few seasons.

He was an immense player on his day but those days were too far and in between.

Wish him all the best in Turkey. He put out a very good post on his insta earlier today.
 
I always liked Ozil but he never really did if for us, even in his assist heavy season he still flitted in and out of games. I think he would have thrived in a better team. We needed our top player to be driving us on with man of the match performances but i don't remember one from him and in the end he just went out with a whimper. Shame as he was very talented.

Would have been interesting to see how Ozil and Auba would have linked up. But I really can’t remember if he played with Auba/Laca under Arteta.
 
Heard that on the radio. They are around 500 mil in debt and have asked for the fans to help out by texting in which donates 2 quid a text.
 
Looks like Mustafi's contract is being written off as well, which is another positive step towards leaning out the bloated middle of the defence, far too many bodies there (Gabriel, Holding, Chambers, Luiz, Mari, Socrates, Mustafi with Saliba and Mavropanos both out on loan, although I'd expect the latter to go from loaned to sold this summer) . Good news about one MO replacing another MO too!

Ozil was at his best when we had all the players to do a lot of intricate passes in the middle (Cazorla!) and the team were a lot less goal-shy. In the modern Arsenal side who shipped a ton of goals and had problems scoring them... no room for a luxury player who's tracking back and pressing was perpetually half-hearted and didn't do well with pressure.

If I recall Ozil has assigned Joel Campbell more times than he’s assisted Auba.

Shame really, he’d no doubt love the service.
