DM's point is easy to follow, and is accurate too. I know it's fashionable to argue whatever he says, but he's right in this instance (and that is more and more frequently).

With Yaya and Kolo at ACON and with Ivory Coast the strongest team i think they will do well although lets hope not.

With that in mind i think someone like Van Bommell or Mariga etc will come in on loan because Hargreaves cant be relied on. A pre contract for De Rossi would be awesome also.

With Kolo gone possibly permanently i think we will need another CB whilst Boyata gets experience and game time. Cant really think of anyone apart from Cahill but im sure there will be plenty fighting for him.

EDIT:

If i had the choice i would have a guaranteed goal scorer in Hernandez regardless of if there was a player who could pass well, cross well etc etc available on similar wages.

Player's fee means nothing? Seriously?

Is that the only thing he's said? I'm sorry, I must've made up the fact that was only a tiny facet of what he posted.

Oh, and the fact that you only responded to a few words at the very end of his post, and ignored the rest of it because it didn't suit you.

Fees over years do mean little in real terms. The market fluctuates so much. Shearer cost Newcastle £15m, what would he cost today?

It's wages that's the important thing. He's right in saying that. He's also right in saying that paying the wage they do to someone that can only finish and can't really play football (IMO) and involve other players and so on limits the adapability of the side.

The amount of guesswork and assumptions in his post was just ridiculous. I could pick his post to pieces but it's far more efficient to just point out how much guesswork there is. Starting with saying player fee means nothing, continuing on to him assuming that a player who could do everything would only want 75k a week and finishing with poaching being the easiest part of football.

I would love for DM to give us this super striker who can do anything and would only cost 75k week a wages. Of course fee is irrelevant so we might as well pay 200m on him.

DM bashing a Man Utd player.... of course Gills agrees *shocker*

Option A spend 75k on a guy who can only poach, who is useless against the top teams, who will look clueless if asked to do anything but tap the ball in.

Useless against the top teams? In less than 2 years at the club he's scored twice against Chelsea and twice against Liverpool are they not top teams? In last seasons Champions League he also scored against Valencia at the Mestalla and twice against the French champions Marseilles are they not top teams as well? Is your definition of a top team limited to Arsenal, Man City and Barcelona?

Poaching is the easiest part of football, the best poachers are seemingly better at poaching, because they try to do nothing else, that will help you in some games and hurt you in many other games.

Utter rubbish have you ever taken your head out of your backside to look at his movement before scoring these easy tap ins? His movement alone is unmatched in the PL

boom

Shame he can't match Hernandez's movement though and Rooney's general all round quality. One day Robin!

RvP is a better striker than both Rooney and Hernandez.

Rooney and Hernandez combined would be a sight to see though.

Obviously, I was just humouring the Man Utd CrEw

That would be the ugliest thing I've ever seen, like an old man baby monster

Thing with Hernandez is like i said, ball at his feet on the halfway line = disaster waiting to happen. he isnt an Aguero who can run and trick people.

I dislike smellbeck and have done for some time but honestly he is much better on the ball than hernandez is.

Hernandez will be active for a game for 5 minutes max and score a goal, for the other 85 he is pretty much non existant. RVP is usually doing something, be that getting assists or scoring or linking up the play.

And he's available is he?

No, didn't think so.

Besides while RvP is a great striker I wouldn't call him the complete striker than DM is suggesting, and also his injury record is pretty damning.

Haven't you heard he's not injury prone anymore ;)

'option B, spend 75k on a player who can tap the ball in the net, can pass well, can be involved in the build up play, can score freekicks, take corners, cross, can do tricks, can do one of those flip type celebrations and as really good at the trumpet.'

I'd argue RvP is one of the most complete strikers in the world, I assume you've seen RvP, so do I really need to say he can pass, is involved in pretty much all our good attacks (amazingly intelligent link up play), scored a free kick a few games ago, takes corners and can cross. I can't see where you're coming from but I rarely can.

Not sure what the injury record is there for but you're talking about an Arsenal player, negative cliches ahoy!

Don't think you'll find too many Arsenal fans saying that.

Every Arsenal player is a gust of wind away from 2 years on the side line.

You'd be very surprised.... ;)

Anywho why the Arsenal lot are choosing to compare their main striker to Man Utd's second only they'll be able to answer. It's not a case of replace Hernandez with RVP as the difference between the two is obvious

If you want to play the who's better than who game you're better of comparing Rooney with RVP (although best not to go there) and Hernandez with....... well Chamakh

EDIT: Goes without saying Carroll & Torres > everyone else of course :p

Manyoo are a much better side than Arsenal though :/

Let's compare them to City, make it more even :D
