Thats why we were so successful with Ronaldo in our team and less successful since his departure because he could literally pick up the ball in his own half and power into the final third and deliver a shot or something. Now we don't have this driving player of this high quality we struggle because none of the Nani's or Valencias can do this role well enough, and we haven't addressed the quality situation in the middle of the park.

I know you're meant to move on from a player, but I do miss ronaldo, not just because of the success we had, but just the pure break neck speed football he ignited when linknig up with Rooney who looked fitter and faster purely because he was alongside a player far ahead of everyone but Messi.

We could have played that football and not won a thing and i'd still enjoy it over last years title.

I thought we were heading that way earlier in the season, yes a little open at the back, but **** it, we were exciting going forwards.

Jeeez! Is he still going on about the need for a 'big man up top' and long balls?

Honestly. I'd rather pleasure myself with sandpaper stuck to my hand then watch that dross level of football.

Nope Im using real world stats that back up my stance that lacking a target man is costing US in the goals department due to wasted crosses..

Of course you could ignore this and maintain your head in the sand paper stance you have taken.

No you're not and you're talking rubbish as per usual.

I'd love to see you try and convince the Spanish coaches, German, French, Brasilian, Argentinian et all that what they really need is a 'big man up top' and to stop this pass and move and keep playing the ball to feet malarkey.

Chamakh so poor in the air yet before he joined Arsenal he had scored the most headed goals in any of the top 5 European leagues over those 2 seasons

Spain use llorrente. Germany use klose and previously jancker etc. France used trezeguet, brasil used Fred, argentina used batistuta, Martin paler 'hair' mo.

Bit of course you already know this.

I'm actually fed up of trying to discuss it with you Runningman, you seem to think just becasue teams have been succesful in the past with a big man up front, that all of a sudden United are crying out for one and he will answer all their problems.

I would love to see a poll of United fans to see what they would think of having a big man up front!

Option 1, Big man up front who can get on the end of all your wasted crosses.

Option 2, As they are with Rooney/Berbatov/Welbeck/Hernandez

I've noticed how much they have struggled for the last few years without the big man!

Don't name players from ancient history, How many top teams currently use a big target man?

Ancient history? Has something happened to llorrente i didnt know about?

Okay

benzema 6ft2"
Giroud 6ft 3.5"

That's France covered.

Do you guys have limited access to the internets or something? It took me 2 seconds to find these examples.

Why? He has some strange opinions but I can't see why they'd ban him. Some of you lot are pushing the rules with some of your comments aimed at him though.

Like?

It comes down to the simple fact that all he does is incite arguments, you even wanted him banned from posting in the summer transfer thread!!

In other news SSN are now reporting that Everton are indeed in talks with us over signing Gibson (I didn't actually realise he was out of contract in the summer)

Horrific, embarrasing post! You could at some point highlight every club and national team who have, at some point, employed the services of a striker with a larger, more physical presence.

I don't understand why you still listen to him? He can't even spell simple words right, Jesus.

Oh right, so you pick up on spelling mistakes but not posts containing information that i have then shown to be wrong?

For instance?

A2M
Runningman, Do you think that Arsenal need a big lump of a striker or do you think it would be detrimental to their passing, patient football?

You bought Chamakh. How about you rescind this post and admit that even free flowing teams need someone who is over 6ft that offers an opportunity to head the ball?

Tummy

You clearly know football inside and out. I posted 2 french examples over 6ft 2".

Germany - Gomez is 6ft 2.5", Klose is deceptively small 6ft but has great ariel ability.

Brasil - Leandro Damião 6ft 1.5", Fred 6ft 1.

I hope you're sat down Tummy, because i hate to tell you this, but you actually know much less than you think you know and actually less than i know. Argentina dont have a striker over 6 ft currently, but then they hardly play with wingers in a 442 shape like we do either.

Its embarrassing that someone would even think that the list i provided is the end all of big men, i have since added more on a per nationality basis from their CURRENT squads just to show you that even though some of the big names have gone those nations still use big guys up front in their squad somewhere.

Just because you dont know who is in the spanish team, or the french team should be an embarrassment to yourself. That you need me to provide a list of names and height because you dont know it, NOR have you even tried to find out the list for yourself, (all whilst i am at work btw not an easy task), thats embarrassing that you have been put to bed by me.

You're just naming players over 6ft now of a specific nationality, of course they exist. You have yet to name top clubs that rely on a big target man now
