** January Transfer Window 2011/12 Season Rumours/Signings **

And Gibson has had his medical at Finch Farm and will apparently sign tomorrow for £1.5m, 4 year contract. Beggars can't be choosers and all that, hopefully he bangs a few in and it'll put the end to Nev or Heitinga in midfield!

Do you think this opens anything up for Rodwell or Barkley, both rumoured quite a bit in the past to head to us (in the summer most likely)?

I think Gibson will do fine for you, wish the lad well.

I actually think Gibson will be a good signing for Everton, he's fairly tidy in possession and will score goals given a run of games. Dare I say he could be Cahill's long term replacement albeit without the headed goals....or the runs into the box :p

Given Moyes will probably carry on playing Cahill till he's 40 I'd say he'll sit on the bench for the next 5 games! :D

Probably Rodwell, Barkley only signed a pro-contract in December on his 18, and given what has been seen and been said about him I'd would a hell of a lot of cash to get him even now. Rumours that Chelsea were ready to bid for Rodwell now but because of his injury it's not going to happen. He'll be off to some where in the summer, no doubt about that.

Here's the thing, Gibson isn't going to get a head of a fit Fellaini and Rodwell in the centre of the park. I dread the think what were paying him since he turned down Sunderland over the summer because they wouldn't give him £50k or something!

But still he'll do well when he plays I think, isn't he still only 24 as well? And lol at the fee, we all know how Moyes can turn averagely cheap players into great players... just when he spends lots of cash it becomes a problem. :D At least he'll do something which no one else in our team apart from Howard and Baines can do and that's shoot and get them on target... Occasionally! Just sucks we've had these injuries because it isn't a position we need to be strengthening.

Informed that the Darron Gibson fee is in fact a fair bit less than the £1.5m I mentioned earlier #MUFC #EFC

lolGibson, best day ever :D

Does mean we've traded Gibson for Scholes effectively this window, not terrible but it won't be setting any of our rivals quaking with fear.

Just you wait... 21st April with the title hanging in the balance he's got to smash a 35 yarder into the top corner and hand City the title. :p :D

Haha, this made me go look for EvertonTime, and I like the new look to it. :)

**** that's it's going to reset, I hope someone takes a screenshot of it before it does.

...ie initial Gibson fee is approx 500k but will rise to £2m depending on how he does. £1.5m figure I mentioned earlier was wrong. Sorry

You'd normally say we're getting him for near enough nothing... but since we've got no money this means we won't sign anyone for at least another 4 years. And that doesn't include all the cost of all the damage he'll do to the Park End with his row Z blasters!

even at that fee I wonder how long it will be before Everton fans are frustrated whenever he is mentioned in the team sheet ;)

For Moyes at that price its a no lose situation, so why the **** not - may well end up being a good fit , still more than happy to be shot of him though:D

Sounds like Utd are getting shot of two midfielders in this window, and possibly a 3rd by the summer in an area of the pitch we were already struggling with - REALLY hope big money is spent on 2 or 3 new arrivals in the same positions before Aug (given that Scholes is a very temporary solution and of course Giggs isnt going to soldier on forever either)

Do you support Spurs?

He's been on loan at MK Dons this season and impressed there and also at Bournemouth last season, right back, 20 yr old.

i do support spurs. walker's got the rb postion with corluka as cover so he's got some competition and i've not heard anything about him so can't comment i'm afraid.

The 'route one' or 'hoof it' football is out dated. I'm asking for a serious example of this tactic working on a European stage or World stage?

Had to quote this as its the worlds most important revelation of football (though I had it watching L1 and the champ). Can't wait for that wonderful day an england manager gives it a bash.... (sorry slightly off topic)

Sheffield Wednesday set to sign Mick Jones from Bury.

:) Would be nice to have a bit more depth in the midfield.

Also in talks to sign Ben Marshall on a transfer and Wednesday have signed Miguel Llera from Blackpool! :)

All of those should be good signings! A cafc mate was a bit gutted to see the end of Llera (made fifa 10 or 11 no fun as we kept the transfers updated over the summer)
