January Transfer Window 2012/2013 Season Rumours/Signings

Nani would instantly be Arsenal's best attacking player by a mile

EDIT: by attacker I mean in their front 3 before someone goes quoting Cazorla at me

I love the idea that United would let Arsenal have Nani on the cheap for the reason that we bought RvP from them. I'm going to apply to be a mail sports writer.

I'm afraid it's his contractual situation which will be the reason why someone will get him cheap, amazing how we've got ourselves in a situation where a young player we bought for 17m and should be selling for near 30m given his improvement (when in form which admittedly he hasn't been for a while) will probably be sold for less than the original outlay

If he doesn't sign a new contract and is sold on the cheap then it'll probably be the worst piece of business we've done for as long as I can remember

Hmm, perhaps. He is a fantastic player but he simply doesn't do what he is told. If he hits 10 shots in a row 30 yards wide, he will still take another 10 more. He never knows when to play to his strengths and let the rest of the team help out. With Nani, Rooney and Rvp and Kagawa we could have a fantastic, creative and deadly strike force yet I can see RvP murdering him because he doesn't pass enough.

If Nani isn't good enough for utd then why should he be good enough for Arsenal? We should go all out and sign a player of the same caliber as Cavani/Villa. If you think about it, it would up shirt sales which over time would almost cover the cost of the signing

I don't believe it has that big an impact, most people who are going to buy a shirt will buy one regardless of what big signings there are and just get a different name. The only difference really is a genuine superstar (Beckham, Ronaldo, Messi etc) that would help raise the profile and drive overseas sales.

Nani hasnt been worth anywhere near £30m for well over a season, and while the club maybe being a little stingy on his current wages he isnt worth what he is reported to be demanding, so Utd have to sell now before he becomes worth less than he is currently £15m~ if Utd are lucky

I just hope the money gets re-invested immediately in a defensive / box to box style player

He Will go if he doesnt sign a new contract soon

Hopefully not to Arsenal, don't think he's the type of player that we need and cant see where he would fit in now that Walcott is scoring goals...I'd rather see us get Walcott signing a new contract than us wasting more money on another meh player.

Walcott and meh player in the same sentence and the two weren't connected? :p

That's Fergie on the rumour that we've signed Lewandowski, I expect him to line up in the number 9 shirt come August then :p

Exactly the same reaction to what I thought about the denials from SAF selling Nani in Jan - exactly the opposite to what he actually said.

FYI - Llorente is now moving to Utd on a free in the Summer too, so that will be 6 strikers in the squad come August :)
