January Transfer Window 2012/2013 Season Rumours/Signings

A picture on Twitter doing the rounds of Isco in a City shirt but its from 5yrs ago which is odd. Certainly interesting and I hope he's not doing what Hazard did.

Will be a fantastic signing for us though, and certainly fits the rumoured new plan.

Regarding Newcastle, how about Lescott? He will be available and I can't see why he would want to go to QPR or somewhere. Maybe wages will be a problem?

Colo has been **** this year and we either need strong cover or replacement for him as well.

We need a CM too, I would love to ship Tiote our and bring in a couple of CM's. I have no doubt we'll balls up another transfer window though :p

Starting to think that's why we balls up the summer. Prob expecting a big transfer for tiote that never came. Squad just stagnated.

I'd take your arm off at the elbow for Lescott but I don't think we would pay his wages. I don't know Lescotts mentality though, is he the type who wants football or money? I would certainly take him on loan.

Can't believe there was string rumours of 25mill last Jan, if only! :p

I'm a cynic so I'll just go in expecting the worst and hopefully be pleasantly surprised :)

I don't know him personally but I think he would take a hit on wages to play. Doesn't seem to have a bad attitude or act like a **** on the training videos etc.

He is a solid defender though and perfect for most teams but Mancini has a problem with his style of play.

We need a rock type player you can build around. I would love to get him and Dawson (if AVB is deludedly trying to sell) that would be a great CB pairing. More chance of signing Messi and Ronaldo to play either side of Shearer after he is brought back to age 25 by our Newcastle supporting alien overlords.

Everton being strongly linked with a move for Lescott.

Should be great for us, however it could mean that the door is open for someone to snap up Heitinga.

I just can't believe debuchy is on his way over.

Every time danny gets the ball down the wing its painful watching him try and cross.

Debuchy is very strong in the air, great passing and crossing. Dream of a signing expect him to be sold in a year or 2 for 17m lol

Newcastle fans getting all unhappy over one "bad" transfer window. Bad in that nothing bad happened at all, just wasn't great.

Here's a hint, not being able to get Debuchy in summer and getting him in Jan, is BETTER than not being able to get him in summer, and buying whatever the hell is left over in summer, ending up with someone you don't want, and not having the wages of space in the squad available for the player YOU WANT in Jan, and then spending 4 years stuck with a crap player.

Newcastle have been doing well by getting the targets they want rather than panic buying whoever is left over when deals don't go through... how have City's deals gone doing their business last second, how does it go for most clubs, Arsenal last year we ended up with Santos in a panic rather than waiting and buying an actual footballer. Not buying the wrong players is equally important to buying the right players, getting anyone for numbers screws you long term. We now can't afford, wages or squad numbers, to buy a left back till Santos goes.

Thats exactly how you got Cisse, buy not panic buying in the summer or the previous Jan after getting Carroll money, you guys complained about not spending the money or having a replacement ready at the time and complained about only one striker in summer, then from Jan to May were creaming yourselves over every Cisse performance, thats who you wanted and you got him rather than some random striker.

In three years you'll probably realise that the pattern of good in the league, league + europe and suck a bit, lose Europe, do well in the league again the year after, and the league + europe causes you to suck in the league again.... like most other teams in the world.

I'm all for waiting for the right targets but not when it lands you almost at the bottom of the table, conceeding 14 goals in 4 games, looking vastly out of your depth and failing to capitalise on an opportunity to stay in around the top 6.

Newcastle missed the boat massively in the window and they will struggle recover now, it's not a hiccup it's a **** up.

We would have to break our transfer policy of not signing players over 29 (resalevalue) would be the great partner for sideshow...

Taylor great but he never bloody fit.

Dutch media are saying Douglas is not on newcastle radar so god knows who we get if anyone.

Mamadou Sakho?

This.

I've been on pretty much all the NUFC boards looking at peoples reactions to the first half of the season, Ba leaving etc.

Massive over reactions every where.

I've wanted Ba sold for months now, he isn't a team player and the decision to 'accomodate' him and his ego by going back to 4-4-2 is what has caused most of the issues this season. As soon as we went back to 4-3-3 we started playing better and Anita found his feet pretty much instantly.

We have been very unlucky with injuries too remember, yet have played some of our best attacking football in the last few games. You did see that we put 3 goals past Man Utd at Old Trafford and were very unfortunate to come away with nowt? Then 3 days later put in another attacking display and put 3 past a fresh, nicely rested Arsenal at the Emirates and again came away with nowt.

We DO NOT have money like we used to, our approach the the market has been excellent and we have some cracking players on board now. Too many NUFC fans have been spoiled by last season.

Ba to chelsea is complete puzzler. Why not splash the cash for Falcao!
Because even if they get Falcao, Chelsea still need a half-decent striker in reserve. They've only got Torres right now, and you can imagine he might be off if Falcao comes in. Ba is probably the kind of player who won't kick up a fuss if he's benched, but is still good enough to be a replacement during injury or as a sub.

Sorry last season our defence was down to its bare bones but we got away with it. This season we are getting punished by it. How much time did we spend flapping around trying to resign carrol? 14 millions bids for dejong?
This be the 3rd or 4 window shopping for a cb. We where after 1 since we got promoted.

We have obviously been looking at centre backs due to the strong links with the likes of Douglas etc.

I never said the board have been perfect but we are not in as bad a shape as everyone seems to make out, and it's knee jerk to the recent hiding from Arsenal who basically were far fresher and had much better energy levels than we did.

Of course we need a CB, but if the right one isn't available for our budget what do you suppose we do?

It's nothing to do with knee jerk it has been going on all year and the tail end of last year.

It's all well and good having targets but you have to have a degree of Alarcity at times otherwise you end up where we are now. It's not as if we are a few points off the pace we are near the boron of the table and will need a strong run if wins just to hit mid table.

I'm not expecting too 5 again but we need to be aiming higher than survival and crashing out of every cup in the early stages. I'm realistic but I do expect some form of ambition.
