Hard to say really, but there's probably something in it.
Whilst I'm not yet sure if we should sign Lampard or not I can see why Fergie might be interested in him. If we sign a midfielder we should get a younger midfielder but perhaps Fergie wants Lampard to sign on a free to negate a big transfer fee that a younger player would command and use Lampard for a season or two whilst we groom another midfielder? Not that my theory makes much sense.
I'm not quite sure how good he'd be for us, but I'd take him. He's an excellent all-round midfielder and knows his own limits very well. I bet we could get at least a couple of decent seasons out of him for sure.
I just think it'll be important to replace that title winning experience should both Scholes and Giggs retire, not to mention I'm fairly sure at this point a long term decision will be made over Fletcher's career in the summer and not in a positive way

The problem is many of these quotes get used so utterly out of context that you have no choice but to look for the original. I've seen articles literally recycle quotes from interviews given over 6 months prior, it has got to the stage where you can't even trust what a manager is quoted as saying as being relevant to the matter at hand without doing background research.
As for Lampard I think he is a good player, still has a lot of offer over the next 18 months and until recently his fitness record is exlempary (despite the 'fat' moniker). The issue as I see it with him moving elsewhere would be his wage demands, maybe something like PSG along with Cashley would suit.

That's not the DAVIDMOYES that broke them stories on GOT just someone messing about. And he wouldn't be able to play on a loan or transfer this season.
