January Transfer Window 2012/2013 Season Rumours/Signings

Tonight's Liverpool rumour is that we've had a bid of £8m rejected by Inter for Coutinho. Assuming the story is true, I can't imagine we've bid unless there's a realistic chance that Inter are willing to sell - in which case I'm a little bit excited. Admittedly I've not seen him play a great deal over the last year or so but I saw a fair bit of him when he first broke into the Inter side and he looked like he was going to become a superstar.

*I'm not sure if it's in the Times too but Tony Barrett's mentioned the bid on twitter too.
Wahey, I can actually care about something in the transfer thread. Although the fact that Hearts have to operate a one-in and one-out policy plus they need to be under 21 does somewhat take the shine of having the transfer embargo lifted.

And they can't be earning more than the player that's departed? Which I imagine means we're probably paying most of his wages for you :p

While we're on the Spurs subject, the rumour mill is a little quiet this year. It's not natural. I don't like it.

Somebody link us with Sneijder already.

Apparently we didn't register him for the CL so didn't get that last group game, though wenger registered worse players in the CL squad...

The problem with Eisfeld is that he isn't eligible for the 'B' List (young players) so would have to take an 'A' List spot. After allocating spots to all our senior players there was only one left and that went to Gnabry who big things are/were expected of.

Yes you could make a case for his inclusion ahead of say Squillaci but I suspect it was preferred to keep experience in the CL squad and blood Eisfeld in domestic competition.

I heard from a friends friend, who know this bloke who once delivered a letter to someone who knew this guy who heard he was interested in signing for spurs.

Concrete enough?

Arsenal want 20-year-old French midfielder Gilbert Imbula, who has starred for French second-tier side Guingamp in recent seasons and holds the record as the youngest player to play in the division, at 17 years, one month and four days.

Yes that will help us out. Get someone promising in for the future and sell them or not even use them. CL here we come!!!!

Definitely, no idea why we gave Young that much when he was on half that at Villa and we'd already paid a decent transfer fee for him.

If I was Nani I'd want at least the same if not more.

The thing is MU have Young, Nani, Valencia and Kagawa all vying for wing/wide forward/'attacking midfield' berths and they can't play them all at once (especially if they want to pair RvP and Rooney) and hence can't really pay them all monster salaries either.

Yep, thanks for that. :D It's a pretty restrictive set of transfer conditions, I can understand why it has been set that way but it does mean that apart from a few "lucky" deals like this one the team can't do much to strengthen.

Now that would be nice, supposed to be the next big thing when rafa was there wasn't he? Not heard to mich since mind you

I've heard a sneijder to spurs rumour this morning

Also, Bastos to schalke for £6.7m. Surely he's worth a punt here for that?!

Isn't Bastos knocking on the door for 30 now? I thought he would have moved to pastures new a couple of years ago. Wicked left foot!
