He was doing pretty good for Wigan too but then he got injured, he looks like he's gona be a great player and I'd rather him go out on loan like he has been and getting games than not quite getting into the Arsenal squad cos he isn't ready and then fail to get a work permit for lack of games when his current one runs out.
The alternative is, Wenger watching the Gervinho scouting vid's while not completely high, see's he's awful, never buys Gervinho, saves what will be close to 20mil by the end of this season (

) and actually plays Miyachi. If he can play and look good for Bolton he is "ready" and he is better than Gervinho, has looked better than Gervinho in preseason in the same situations and looked better than him last year.
I have my issues with Fergie, but he gave Welbeck a loan, then played him the next year then gave him a new contract and continues to play him. Macheda had less chances, but still plenty of chances and significantly more than Miyachi(who had none basically... did we see him in the cup ever?), Fergie generally speaking doesn't buy players in then proceed to utterly ignore those youth players who are breaking into the team. He bought RVP and yet Welbeck has still had plenty of appearances.
We get guys like Vela, Miyachi, and they never develope because he sends them to poor teams who have no vested interest in developing the players for Wenger, who use them if it suits them and in general you would expect less high quality training at a lower club with less money, training every day with worse players, whats the point.
Personally I think outside of some basic matchday experience and taking some knocks, more than a 6-12 month loan is harmful, practicing with a top team, top players every day is more useful than slogging it out for years in the championship. Ultimately train with better coaches, train alongside better players... end up a better player.
Vela is by the way being repeatedly praised in Spain and Mexicans are keeping track of him and very impressed. G.Santos was a "bigger" prospect as he was at Barca, but has been widely criticised for not leaving Spurs and happy being on the bench/putting in no effort. Last year mexican fans thought Vela did great and were really happy he left Arsenal to get games.
YOu have to factor in the quality of club Sociedad is, and that he'd basically been rusty for the first 1/3 of the season and his stats and overall play last year was very good, and he's continued that form this year. He'd still be better in a 4-4-2 as he is really a striker, but he plays mostly as the wide man there and has been excellent. Yeah, he's no Messi, but, he works harder, has more quality and has a great football brain. His link up play is great, he makes the runs Walcott makes but, fights for the ball, has better timing, and more assured finishing, he's so far ahead of the likes of Walcott it makes me pretty sick we got rid of him for next to nothing, less than we're throwing at Walcott for wages in the next year now
