Anyone else remember this thread? Silva V Mata V Cazorla

:p

Id take Cazorla over them 3, hes been absolutely superb for us in recent games and gets more game time than poor Mata at the moment:p...but it Mata's not, at least Mata can get some playing time now and we can all sit back and watch how Moyes completely and utterly destroys him as a player:p

He's been crap this season mind :p

He'd have been their best player if they actually gave him a chance. Not that I'm complaining, our gain (hopefully).

Do you think Cazorla is better than Ozil?

He's still started a fair whack of games? I think it was inevitable Hazard would become the main focal point in that team and it shows this season, Mata has been pretty much forgotten about.

His morale must have been down the drain though, among other things. It was going to happen before Mourinho even arrived back at Chelsea. It's very strange. Hazard is fast becoming a superb player but I don't think he's better than Mata at his best. It's hard to judge him on more recent history as he's not had a proper place in the team.

Have you seen this?

West Ham United have made a bid for Leeds United captain Ross McCormack, Sky Sports understands

http://www1.skysports.com/football/...m-bid-for-leeds-united-captain-ross-mccormack

Will he go?

I think Hazard will go on to be a better player, he has more to offer and has the thing all the best players have...pace!

Mata still should get back to his best if he's played correctly though, I've put him in my FF so he better do ;)

And yeah, it was inevitable...if they bid 5m I'm sure we will accept. Anything less and it would a travesty.

I know you didn't say it but apples and oranges, Wenger sold players who had contributed massively to the season gone (RVP and Fab). Mata as much as I love him has not been able to make a mark in this team this season (and is not our best player...Hazard). Regardless I'm still gutted, genuinely likeable, world class talent and deserves to be playing.

I imagine manchester was preferable compared to PSG as Navas, Negredo and Silva are up there!

First of all we havent sold any of our best players in the past during the Jan window when we have played our rivals twice lol. This is what Wenger was trying to get across that its pretty much manipulation and Wenger isnt the only one who said this...even Pelligrini has said as much but because its Wenger, its ok to have a pop at him and call it moaning as people are saying in here.

What makes me laugh is Mourinho, possibly the biggest moaner around makes it personal when Wenger made his opinion clear. Ive read what Wenger has said and it doesnt come across as being a personal attack on Mourinho but Mourinho has to try and get one better by making it personal.

I dont know what you are on about with RVP and Fab??, they were sold in the summer after the season had finished so had no effect on the season just gone:confused:/. With RVP we had no choice, if we didnt sell him he would have left for free and Fab always made it clear he wanted to go back to Barca...he didnt want to sign for Chelsea/City or Utd when we sold him.

Anyhow it doesnt matter in the grand scheme of things, hopefully the transfer falls through with the latest rumours coming out now:p

Sorry if ive missed it above but it looks like Juve have made an official €11m bid for Nani, but the club want 20m - personally think he will go for around 15m

Hazard has been simply unplayable at times this season and easily our best player. If Hazard had been this good last year he would've won our POTY awards so although you can't really compare him to Mata as they're so different he's a better player, now. :)

I agree you can't compare them directly, we'll see how Mata gets on for us, as that's all that's important... hopefully we'll get everyone fit and he can flourish with RvP instead of Torres. :p

For those that say Chelsea blindly say "in jose we trust"....not necessarily.

It is possible for good players to drop form, that's what happened to Mata. No one would chose for him to leave, but as made clear in the press conference he's been professional, yet unhappy that he wasn't playing enough and so he wants to move. Not only willl his paycheck double, it may seal his WC place and its stupid for us to keep him when we have no plan to play him. Man United will improve with him, but it isn't their main issue so it isn't going to be the remedy for them whilst it may help us win the PL this season.

Look at the southampton game....schurrle and mata were in midfield and the wing, we were struggling at 0-0. We brought on Oscar and Willian and won 3-0 in the last 30 mins. They're all great players but some have just clicked better this year in what we're doing. Chelsea are selling so many short attacking midfielders because we're turning more into a stocky (similar to 2005) 4-3-3 side than the 4-2-3-1 that AVB etc tried to adopt for Roman. Also we had to sort out our FFP issue i believe? Oscar is brilliant so even if Mata got to full form we couldn't host both of them as they'd have to do alternate games which is only bad for the team and them. Better to have schurlle and hazard fight for the left wing, willian and salah on the right and oscar in the middle. If oscar got injured one of the wingers (Willian) could do a job.

Also, we still have Lampard, Ramires, Matic, Mikel, Luiz (Romeu, Mcceachran next season) who can form a middle 3 too if we did lack central attacking midfielders.

I'm sad to see Mata go, but it's clearly been well thought out and we're being careful by sorting out winger before we let him go.

edit: Piazon is firing well at Vitesse too so next season he will be like the twin of Oscar.

Eh? I think you've taken my point massively out of context I was referring to the thing your friend sent hence why I wrote 'I know you didn't say it'

Massive strong black striker, we lose the next derby.

Is that the one that scored against us when Bad Jones came charging out?

Yeah he is.

Yes but he's supposedly injured at the moment. Thank god Everton don't have another massive black striker.

It's weird because papers were saying that it would be around 'a month', Martinez said the other week it was only a "soft tissue injury" and it would be a couple of weeks I wouldn't be surprised if he was actually fit for the derby but came off the bench.
