Can't tell if joke or not?

No matter how good Messi is, if someone is willing to pay 200m, you can't say no. Don't see it happening... ever.

Barca paid 95mil + by all accounts for Neymar, Real paid 80mil for Ronaldo, simple fact is that the image rights the players bring with them are worth more than those fee's. I doubt 200mil would make the transfer worthwhile. Increases shirt sponsorship because the name of said company ends up associated with Messi and Messi is a key reason they've won so damn much since he broke into the team.

Messi at Barca for another decade, 200mil is probably significantly below what he will bring the club in the next decade, even if it was close, it wouldn't make it worthwhile.

The only question is, if Messi wants out then 250mil now vs 50mil with a year left or on a free transfer if he refuses to sign a contract in several years, sure. If Messi doesn't want out, he's a gravy train of income for them and will continue to be so.

about time some decent money was spent at United.

And when I say decent this does not include the new Roy Keane...

LOL.

A new Roy Keane - somebody who can drive the rest of his team-mates around him, forward, both literally on pitch and figuratively speaking - is what we need.

Unfortunately, it isnt the big hair dude. This dude should be sold off quickly, before he loses too much value. Sometimes in life/business, you have to cut your losses and move on.

I remember, the big signings for Fergie, when he began his run of trophies were Roy Keane and Eric Cantona. I think we already have a creative attacking midfielder in Mata. Now we need a guy with a great engine.

Roy Keane, Gerrard, Vieira, Gatusso - that type of player is who we need. The day we sign that type of player, is the day that we should see a big turn around in Man Utd's fortunes. This will be the key signing, under Moyes' tenure.

EDIT: Fergie seems to think that Man Utd are in the title race. I strongly disagree with him...but hey, he is the most successful manager in England, ever, so who is qualified to disagree with him?

Anyone else find this just mental. Live TV coverage of a player being flown in by helicopter for a medical. :D

If you are talking about a loan, or a £12m (:D) signing then I would probably agree with you

Someone who breaks the club record for transfer fee - well.....its something to get excited about at the very least (without considering the pages and pages of speculation and opinion thats flooded the broadsheets/ blogs and everywhere else in the last week or so)

edit - and dont forget Utd know already he is effectively fit, so the medical is a formality ( Unless chelsea knobbled him before he took off lolol)

I think the biggest issue he is gonna have passing his medical, is the fact its just become a blizzard here! he might not like the weather up here :p

Draxler deal on the cards?

Bit late to the party, i posted that up late last night:p.

But seems there is some traction in the reports, with Wenger giving a smirk when asked last night after the game. Also seems like Mandzukic is also up for offers, Bayern arent going to extend his contract and hes free to leave as well. Perhaps Wenger should go for a last minute double whammy:p. Would be nice if we did get Mandzukic along with Draxler in this window.

If Manu signed the equivalent of Cantona now people would be quick to remark how they signed a player Leeds didn't want to hold onto and he couldn't get in the French team with a poor record of discipline. Let's also not forget he wouldn't get on the bench let alone starting squad for Real Madrid and Barcelona ;)

As for Fergie what else do you expect him to say in public other than back a manager he had a hand in? What he thinks privately is a different matter.
