January Transfer Window 2017/18

Our defence is partly what it is because of the way we play and I don't think we're looking to get rid of Sturridge, not in the short term anyway. I suspect we've put such a big price on his head to make it a no lose situation - if somebody pays it then great, we can then buy a half decent replacement but if they don't (which I suspect nobody will) then Sturridge gives us some half decent cover for the rest of the season.

Well sky reporting inter are after him

They and Sevilla have reportedly bid to take him on loan which we've rejected. Supposedly we'd demand a big loan fee and some sort of guarantees that any loan becomes permanent before we'd consider it.

If you sign him to play on the right that only makes the deal weirder to me. Sanchez wants to play centrally - playing from the left is a compromise but being a right footer coming inside is a lot easier than from the right.

That's true. You've decided that you have to blow everybody out of the water to make sure you get the deal done. It's no different to when Newcastle spent £17m to sign Owen from Real - they knew they had to offer well in excess of what Liverpool were offering to make it impossible for any other outcome.
Random fact I read the other day. The Owen deal is still Newcastle's most expensive signing. Surprising? Not really, Mike Ashley's a cheapskate.

If Arsenal were to lose Sanchez and Walcott and bring in Mkhi and Aubameyang with a net outlay of approx £0m... (big if on the last one, but seems to be gaining momentum) surely that's got to be seen as good business by the gunners and the fans should be pretty pleased with the outcome?

If they miss out on Auba, then it's a different story!

Aubameyang will cost around £60m? Mkhitaryan has cost effectively nothing (though you can bet there will be some agent fees there).

Looks like Gazidis has been snapped arriving in Dortmund to finalise the Auba deal.

Great if actually true, last time we were told someone was in London finalising a deal with us...was Higuain lol.

(Believed to be) Genuine pic of Sanchez in the kit:

All set for an announcement presumably tomorrow.
