January Transfer Window 2017/18

well that's nearly double what ageuro is on so. no. be man utd and get shafted would be more inline

How much would Aguero cost to sign in the first place? Same as with any transfer of this type, if a player moves on the (relative) cheap they tend to get a decent salary.

@cm1179 have you wiped away the bitter tears yet?

Am told in pretty stark terms no way is Sanchez receiving anything like £500,000 a-week. He is now highest paid player, alongside striker named Zlatan Ibrahimovic...

As above, the club's official line is that he's being paid the same as Zlatan (now joint highest paid player). Makes sense really, they are on a top tier wage, much more than most clubs could offer.

crikey that's an expensive benchwarmer 'the zlatan' would sound good in ikea. telegraph reports £400k surely man utd of all clubs wouldn't offically release details of a players wage? source...

It will remain speculation I suppose, and people will believe what they want to believe.

there's no way city wouldn't have gone in for him if they thought they could get him for ageuro's wages. they have a bottomless pit of £ and would've done it to spite utd if anything but even they must've thought his wage demands were too high for a player his age

a massive and expensive roll of the dice by utd to secure top 4 imo

I think City backed out due to the agent going back on his word, they were expecting to get him cheaper and with no competition.

Not really a roll of the dice considering we already have players on this sort of wage, it's not that unusual for us. If anything he gives us a better chance to win the Champions League (but I doubt that will happen), the teams around us competing for top 4 are fairly inconsistent, I think we'd have got it regardless.

Also, as you've said time and time again. It's better spent on players than by the Glaziers

Wowsers. I usually love someone getting one over on Arsenal but can't help but think Manu will regret this! Ridiculous wages and can only see him causing disharmony in the ranks. Imagine the wreck left in a feeble years I know the games changed but it must hurt being a Manu fan nowadays.

Exactly, we have enough money being sucked out of the club, if we fluff it all on world class players instead I certainly won't be complaining. So in the end we pay our best 5 players £350k a week? Big deal. Makes no odds to me. I think certain people are under the impression we've stuck all our eggs in one basket and risked financial turmoil, they couldn't be more wrong, it's a drop in the ocean for us.

Good video below for anyone interested, I remember most of the goals, some crackers too.
