January Transfer Window 2017/18

I think City backed out due to the agent going back on his word, they were expecting to get him cheaper and with no competition.

Not really a roll of the dice considering we already have players on this sort of wage, it's not that unusual for us. If anything he gives us a better chance to win the Champions League (but I doubt that will happen), the teams around us competing for top 4 are fairly inconsistent, I think we'd have got it regardless.

Also, as you've said time and time again. It's better spent on players than by the Glaziers

Exactly, we have enough money being sucked out of the club, if we fluff it all on world class players instead I certainly won't be complaining. So in the end we pay our best 5 players £350k a week? Big deal. Makes no odds to me. I think certain people are under the impression we've stuck all our eggs in one basket and risked financial turmoil, they couldn't be more wrong, it's a drop in the ocean for us.

Good video below for anyone interested, I remember most of the goals, some crackers too.

I was speaking hypothetically, we'll have Pogba and Sanchez as the two top earners come the summer (when Zlatan likely goes). De Gea may need to match them if Real Madrid come in...

We could have 5 players on 350k without a problem, we don't at the moment. Remember we recently got Rooney off the books too.

The way Mkhitaryan moves with the ball is a little Pires like.

I think he is going to fit in just fine at Arsenal and wont destabilize the team now that the diva has gone.

Is Sanchez really going to get the blame for Arsenal's woes? Arsenal have been like this for the past decade, permanently destabilised.

And you'll possibly have Aubameyang soon, who has caused Dortmund a lot of trouble, far more than Sanchez did for Arsenal.

You have a point. With the changes at the club with a new sporting director and chief scout I hope things will change for the better.

But since the Bayern games in the Champions League there has been a big cloud hanging over Arsenal and the team hasn't been right. Mostly because Sanchez threw his toys out the pram.

Arsenal won't get anywhere signing just Mkhitaryan and Auba. They need defenders and defensive midfielders who have some fight in them, they are mentally fragile and poor defensively.

I assume you've seen the picture of Sanchez wearing a Man Utd jacket, from about 10 years ago. Nobody dreams of playing for Man City, let's not kid ourselves. :p

I am actually looking forward to seeing Aubameyang playing for Arsenal, I do rate him, could be a top signing.

What happened to him. A few years ago pretty much all the top clubs were linked with him and he was easily one of the most in demand strikers in the world.

He's a nutcase, essentially. :p

Nah, but he seems to have a number of issues when it comes to discipline etc. There certainly must be something to it as none of the big teams have moved for him or shown much interest recently.

As above, he was going to Man City for £60m but it all fell through at the last minute due to Lemar not wanting to go to Arsenal (at such short notice, anyway).

Chelsea should just sign Aubameyang instead, rather than trying to get these target men.

I am hoping he comes to the league though as it'll be interesting to see how well he does.

The BBC literally have the fee in the headline. Then in the third paragraph had how much they’ve spent on defenders in the last year.

Yes, but not including all other fees, like with the Sanchez deal. It did make me laugh that Pep was moaning about how City are on a budget as he's sat there with a £200m defence!

Because it’s not that news worthy I guess compared to recent other deals. If he was on 500k per week and the agent bent them over I’m sure it will come out or be reported.

Is there some magical player age then where we include agent fees and wages in the headline? That would be ridiculous.
