January Transfer Window

I think i was one of the few that actually liked him as a player before the game against Portugal. It does help if he plays in his proper position ;). There has certainly been an about turn though lol.

Cant quite remember who it was who was defending him all those times back then, anyone care to remind me....;) :p.

my proudest moment in SA. :p

Just searching for some of the quotes from the Man U lot pre-world cup, it's hilarious :p
I'd actually be interested to see what you can find.

Not sure if I actually posted anything about him, but I can say I wasn't his biggest fan. I wasn't keen on Utd signing him for most of the time we were chasing him either. But to be fair, not many did rate him while he was playing out of position for England.

I think I was quite vocal in saying I felt he was over-rated, however I also stated a lot of opinions are stemmed from seeing 10/20 minutes in an England shirt because he wouldn't have been such an important player for Bayern Munich if he was rubbish.

Got to love the papers for making up stuff.

Sol Campbell has been linked with a sensational return to Tottenham.

New boss Juande Ramos is keen to sign an experienced central defender in the January transfer window and believes Campbell would be tempted by a move back to the capital, reports The Times.

It would be a stunning transfer coup as the England defender was branded 'Judas' after his controversial move from Spurs to bitter rivals Arsenal six years ago.

I can't see it happening, can you?

The Campbell rumour is an old one and will never happen
Never Forget
My heart and soul is here and I want to play for Spurs. I am going nowhere - for now - August 4, 2000.

I can assure everyone that I won't be signing for another club while I am still a Spurs player. I want to win the Premiership and I want success in Europe but, most of all, I want to believe I can achieve that here - December 3, 2000.

Being a Spurs fan as a boy and a player for so many years, it would be hard for me to sign for Arsenal. I don't think the fans here would ever forgive me - December 17, 2000.

I want to play for Tottenham, that's it really. I am going nowhere - January 1, 2001.

I'm happy here and willing to do business now. I'm not selfish, I'm looking at the current situation and want the club to do well - January 5, 2001.

It's the ambition of Spurs and where we are going that concerns me. I have the right to keep my options open. Nobody can blame me for wanting success and above all wanting it at Tottenham. But talk is cheap - March 11, 2001.

As long as the club is healthy and things are in place, then myself and other players will want to join Tottenham or continue with them. I want to stay at Tottenham - March 26, 2001.

There is still a lot of sorting out to be done but I am sure it will be resolved - April 1, 2001.

I will leave it as late as possible - but I am happy at the moment and that is the main thing - April 13, 2001.

Going abroad is not in my mind. the ball is in Spurs' court now. I am in no hurry because I want to look at the whole picture. We will just have to wait and see what happens in the next two or three weeks - May 21, 2001.

Campbell then lit the blue touchpaper when he signed for Arsenal on a Bosman free on July 3, 2001.
I would boo him everytime he touched the ball and so would 99% of WHL. As said above he'd just get lynched anyway :D

I thought of posting the same off the Harry Hotspur blog too Chong, illustrates in no uncertain terms why he is despised.

He won't leave Watford.

Read a quote somewhere from Ramos or Poyet saying they wanted to keep Berbatov but "you have to consider the players wishes". I think he's off, whether it be January or summer.

Or that they are recognising that players have the power when it comes to transfers now, so they are just telling it as it is.

I'd like Man Utd to sign Dave Kitson, I thought this prior to the weekend and he's looking to be getting better after his injury last year.

He's the perfect 3rd striker, something which we need. Should we buy Berbatov I'd be at a lack of understanding at how you'd fit Tevez, Rooney and Berbatov into a side.

I was actually thinking this earlier, only reason i could see you signing Berbatov would be if too much money was being asked to sign Tevez permanently.
