January Transfer Window

Nice to see the bitter Liverpool fans out and about again :D I said it at the start of the season, Liverpool were always going to fall away from the top of the table as per usual. Gerrard has been good in spells, actually, exceptional tbh, but quite a few others have been letting you down. I actually think Torres and Crouch make a good team up front, but your home form has been surprisingly poor, although you have no trouble in scoring goals, it seems that when you win, you win by 2 or 3, but otherwise you just find it really tough for the whole game ie/ Derby.
Personally I think you need a creative midfielder alongside Gerrard as in some games you really have made hard work of it this season and it seems to be from lack of options.
 
Hargreaves is a better player overall than Mascherano and its not debatable.
The very fact he held is own week in week out in a champions league and treble bundesliga, double cup winning side and when fit is picked to start for the current Premier league champions and current table table toppers Manchester United.

Mascherano gets picked week in week out for liverpool.

Did he?

The year Bayern won the CL Hargreaves made a total of 19 appearances (including as a sub) in all competitions and considering top sides usually play 60 odd games a season Hargreaves only once played more than 40 games and that season Bayern won absolutely nothing.

But you can't judge a player on what a club has won otherwise Phil Neville's better than both :p

Ive always said Hargreaves is a good player but i find it funny how when the WC squad was announced there was uproar over his inclusion (a certain Manc even tried suggesting that Phil Neville could do a better job :p) yet a couple of good (not great) performances in the WC and 15 games (which i doubt many if anyone on here even watched) for Bayern in what was one of there worst seasons in a long time and he's now a superstar :confused:

He impressed Fergie after being on trial for 3 weeks so he must have something, hes also got to be better than Dong :/

realised that after :o still, Mascherano is not guaranteed a starting place in our team like has been suggested, he has only regularily been in the starting line up due to Alonso's injury

I was poking fun.

Thats all. The only opinion i have about Hargreaves is he was about 10 million too much.
 
Its funny seeing everyone defending Hargreaves now. Considering 99% of this forum berated him prior to the WorldCup. ;).


Imo, both Hargreaves and Mascherano are very good DMs.
Neither is better than the other, both fit into different styles of play better than the other.

Mascherano is like Gatusso, but more composed and relaxed on the ball. Hargreaves is more along the lines of Viera, just composed and calm all the time, but capable of hounding players as well.
