Not sure how true it is but there have been some reports that we've made contact with him and he's holding out for a summer move to us but like i say ive no idea whether there's any truth in it.

He's holding out for a move to united, Ferguson said some words about him a while ago and he thinks he has a chance of signing for united.
Thats it in a nutshell.
 
Well ive seen a couple of stories saying Liverpool but i have no idea whether they're true and if thats all Fergie's said then its hardly definant that he's waiting for you.

edit\ just breaking on SSN that Spurs have said they will not be making a fresh bid for Hutton so the BBC got it wrong.

Far from certain yet. He's is supposed to have said to French reporters that negotiations are at an advanced stage but Momo is like most French/African players, they can't keep there mouth shut and constantly talking about leaving.
 
where the hell would boro got the 12mill for alfon alvez?

the guy bloody scored 34 goals for heerinveen (sp?)(IICR) last season.

if were getting 12mil, then im sure ticket prices go up, and even less ppl come to a stadium where the away fans populate more than home.

If its for the £11m thats being touted they can have him! £6m on top for mascherano and we wont even look back.
 
I thought the same when Utd spent more on Carrick but players are only worth what clubs are willing to pay for them. He was possibly worth it in the summer but his form this season has been terrible and with Alonso, Gerrard, Mascherano and now Lucas ahead of him in the pecking order he's not going to get a run in the team to try and sort his form out.

With the players we've got in CM any offer over £6m is worth taking and being put towards the Mascherano deal.

i know, but look how that one turned out. we won the league so i guess these things can work out.
 
Utd winning the league isn't a reflection on the value of Carrick, especially as you've signed 2 other cm's for around £35m who have now taken his place so Fergie can't be too happy with him.

Oh i didn't know there was that guarantee with the deal, that accounts for £15m of the £16m with his talent being the rest :p

no i don't think the :p is confrontational at all, imo its the best one to use when making it clear you're having a laugh or its just a bit of banter.

yep absolutely, but with regards to the value for talent/winning the league in a transfer fee what the hell was the other 8.99million for for Kuyt? :p (going on a quick wiki which says undisclosed but reported to be around 9mill not saying it's true but can't be bothered to look further.)

I dont think United want him particularly i think its more his scum bag agent knows he has a chance of getting someone a bit better than spurs to bid for him and we need a right back, ergo you can see where he has put 2 and 2 together.
