Imho, he'd be an excellent signing. Goalscoring record looks good - linky.

If Boro were to sign him then I believe this could be one of the biggest coups of the January window.

Apart from the fact that Hargreaves was meant to have arrived last year and Anderson is more of a replacement for Scholes and not like Carrick at all, neither of those players had arrived when we won the league last season - and Carrick was the only person we signed 18 months ago and after playing 40 odd games last season I cant really see him being any more vital at that point in time

He was easily one of the major reasons why we won the league - especially with Scholes being out for quite a number of games due to the eye complaint
 
Scholes was available all last season bar suspensions and being rested every now and then. But other than that I agree, Hargreaves isn't a replacement for Carrick, just a different option. Anderson however is Scholes' replacement.

Scholes had an eye injury which kept him out for ages -my god sorry you were right it was 2005/6 season he had the injury

Scholes gets plenty of goals, I rarely see Anderson shoot!

I hear people saying this all the time, I don't think he's ever scored plenty of goals for us. I wish he would score more when he plays, but he plays so deep now that shots from outside the box are a thing of the past.
 
Didn't he once get close to 20 goals the season you caught Arsenal in the last few weeks, though iirc that was in all competittions. Anderson plays similarly to the way Scholes played last year but not Scholes of 3+ years back.
 
Manuel Fernandes is flying into Everton tomorrow to seal a loan till the end of the season with a view to a permanent deal.
