January Transfer Window

Well after failing to destroy blackburn yesterday Boro really need a finisher and sooner rather than later !

Hopefully should find out about ALves this week but all seems to have gone quiet, Fred move seems off, so looks like its back to Hulse

swap deal for berbatov would be awesome:)

No it wouldnt, he would stifle the way we play.

At the moment we should be looking for players similar to Henry to fit in to the way we play.
Berbatov isnt it, by the time he set off on a run the rest of the team would be back waiting to defend the resulting goal kick.

From Alves, to Fred, to Hulse.

LOL

that was a both horrible and superb game.

tuncay needs to use his feet and eyes at the same time. and why o why cant we finish people off. it was like we were the home team yesterday. (although we play crap at home anyways:P)

wheater is good, and i hope we dont let him go for a bit, if at all, and if downing is to go, please swap him for defoe.

Carrick is an easy target in terms of the press given that he cost a lot of money and isnt a gauranteed starter this season. Its lazy journalism to link him with a move to anybody. Would spurs fans want him back anyway?

yea but he is a brilliant player, he can turn a man inside out, shoot from anywhere within 45 yards of the box, slip through an awesome pass. he is the business up front.

totally different from our strikers, id say he is a better finisher than anyone currently on the UTD books.

Hmm possibly, but the damage of dropping Rooney or Tevez would be worse than any qualities he would bring to the team.

If you were a Boro fan and a big name foreigner signed you would worry what his motivation was!

Yeah I mean why would anyone want to move to Boro to play in the Premier League for the last club in England to win a trophy outside of the Big 4 and who only a few seasons ago appeared in a UEFA Cup final.

Obviously it's the electric atmosphere of 12,000 fans at the Riverside.

Yup the kids grow up in Brazil and Italy dreaming of one day 'making it' as a professional player and gracing the dizzy heights of boro. That was clearly what motivated Ravanelli and Emerson as they developed as players.

"Turin? Hell no i want to play in a cold place"

Most players growing up probably dream only of playing for the likes of Man Utd, Juventus, Barcelona... Yet probably less then 1% of professional footballers will ever attain that. Does that mean we have to question the motivations of every other footballer because they will never ever achieve a childhood dream?

These also plenty of footballers who probably dream of playing in one of the top leagues in Europe (Italy, Spain and England). So getting to do that even if it's only for a club like Boro is probably good enough for some.
