Sunderland have agreed a fee with Charlton for Andy Reid. Rumoured to be around £4 million.

Hes a top player no doubt and will be sorely missed, but hes very injury prone (out at the moment) and we are doing well without him and have a couple of natural replacements, one being Zheng Zhi who has been excellent this season. £4 million would be a good price also. Still a big loss mind.

He is indeed injury prone. A quality championship player or very average Prem player though.

I don;t understand why Portsmouth are selling Benjani, their top scorer. Unless of course Defoe is on the way there but I'm not sure on that one.

There was a rumour earlier about Kanoute being on his way to Pompey. If true that would explain the possible departure of Benjani and imho Portsmouth would have gotten the better end of the deal.

I think hes just as a backup, with the injuries atm.

He'll do a Kuqi role, come on occasionally.

Just seen that they've also signed Toni Kallio.

Litmanen is not the only addition on transfer deadline day as Finland international defender Toni Kallio has also signed for The Cottagers.

Kallio, who joins from Swiss outfit BSC Young Boys, has been capped 15 times by his country and can operate at left-back and centre half.

Not a bad deal, hes a good player - nicknamed 'bonecrusher' haha.

Alves has apprently waived his signing on fee in order to get the deal with boro done

Depends yeah. He has been nothing special. He has scored 2 hattricks, yes, against Reading and Derby. Other than that he hasn't done much.

Portsmouth have agreed a fee with Spuds for Defoe, thought it was a bit odd them selling Benjani to Man City.
