Japanese Grand Prix 2011, Suzuka Circuit - Race 15/19

No 90% of his races this year have been runined either by the stewards or other drivers. Have you even watched all the races this year as it appears not.
A few things have gone against him but 90% of the things that have happened to him this season have been his own doing.

You stated Lewis has spent his career complaining to cover up being an average driver.

Average drivers do not come second in their first championship by 1 point, win the second, take a car 3 seconds off the pace in the 3rd to a couple of race wins, and be in the title fight right to the last race in the 4th.

Oh no wait, I forgot, its cool to bash Hamilton... Yeah, I mean, he is totally crap and moans all the time.

He was not a whiner in his first two years (although swearing at daddy Ron at Hungary was funny), he became that when he got a rubbish car :) Did you really just try and say he won races in a car 3 seconds off the pace lol......

It's as cool to bash Lewis as it is for Massa to be bashed, suck it up. Not everyone adores the 2nd coming of Senna lol out driven by Jenson says it all about Lewis, only team mate he has beaten was his lapdog Heikki who handed him the title.

Last time I checked someone's 'career' included all their seasons.

And Lewis won both Hungary and Singapore in 2009 with a car that was 3 second off the pace at the start of the season.

But hey, feel free to bend the facts to fit your own argument.

I'm not a blinded Hamilton fan, I just don't subscribe to the 'bash Hamilton at every oportunity' fan club. But trying to provide some factual clarity to the sensationalised drivel that gets posted on here has got me labelled as some sort of dilluded uber fan.

LOL yeah it was at the start of the season, and he whined about it, it was not when he won as what do you know they improved dramatically. But anyone with any sense about F1 knows that :) And you want to talk about me bending facts? too funny.

You are good enough at bashing other drivers yet get on your high horse when it comes to Lewis :)

Ah right, ok, so what you meant to say was that Lewis had made a career of complaining to cover up the fact he was driving average cars.

Glad we got that cleared up.

Come back when Massa has won a championship.

Might be a slight problem given the standing team orders at the Scuderia....

I thought Lewis' comments after the race were telling. Spatial awareness obviously not tip-top right now, unlike Vettel (who knew exactly where Button was going into Turn 1 from the start ;)).

If the guy can't see his mirrors, then it's time to fit bigger mirrors - aerodynamics be damned. If the problem lies with the driver rather than the car, then the team need to get him the help that he requires. But I'm fed up with watching him just wander around, finishing off the podium (just four podium finishes this year....), and running into people. It's not fun to watch.

Please understand guys, especially you Skeeter since this seems to be your current bête noire - I'm not trying to bash Hamilton here. He's a great driver. He just hasn't had all that many great races this year.

@ Mr Men

So, you don't like Lewis?

Do you have to ram it down everyone's throat at every opportunity? It's always going to get people's backs up. To say he's decidedly average is laughable, you don't have to be a Hamilton fan to see he's a good driver.

Massa on the other hand.. Lewis is on a bad season, Massa is just poor.

No Lewis has constantly whinged, see Hungary 2007,see Monaco 2007, 2008 he was happy enough as he had a lapdog at his command and a McLaren benefiting from 800 pages of Ferrari data :)

2009 he cried like a girl until the car improved, he has constantly blamed the team for strategy errors, and who can forget his legendary breakdown at Monaco this year, but yeah he does not whine he is a great team player, for sure.

Is the F1 forum working for anyone ? Keeps saying This content is not working right now. Try again later...

Been saying this all day...

Much like those of us who feel Hamilton isn't a perfect bastion of innocence who has been unfairly persecuted because the stewards must hate him and instead feel that he might have actually contributed to some of his incidents and (like JRS' post above) try and make some sort of rational argument as to why he is frustrating or disappointing us, get blindly labelled Hamilton Haters.

The Brawn GP car was so far ahead of everyone else at the start of the 2009 season it's unfair to claim it was still the case much later in the season when the Hungarian and Singapore GPs came about, when both drivers were struggling whilst the rest of the pack caught up with development of their own cars.

Talk about clutching at straws.

Hamilton is the person who's putting all the pressure on himself, and that is in my mind the problem...
Outdriving, too aggressive and then strangely very muted, he's not been able to get the balance right this season. It doesn't help when you teammate seems very happy and chilled and relaxed. He is a better driver than he is performing this season, and it's disappointing to see him so off colour and out of sorts

Massa on the other hand..

Yes I think he is average, if things are not right he does not do a good job. Nothing to do with liking him or not. Massa is very average also which makes Lewis winning his title against Massa fit in with average.

Why is me not loving Lewis going to get people's backs up, are they really that precious? And I love how you try to stab at Massa in an attempt to get someone's back up oh the ironing :D

They key point to your argument was that Hamilton was whinging while being an average driver.

Yeah, he whinged, but he has never been just an average driver.
