Tbh it wouldn't make much difference. The whole day is going to be a washoit and the typhoon is going to be causing chaos for 3-4 days.

Not really. That was avoidable, weather conditions are not.

Really looks like there won't be much if any racing. Kyushu and Okinawa are on high alert already so it'll hit soon moving North-East. When it comes to this kind of thing sod the racing, people's lives will be in danger. Let's hope people stay safe.

Ah last I saw the early part of the day looked drivable.
Would be gutted if you had booked a holiday for it.

God knows what to make of this but Nando is stringing me along. Just tell me you are leaving ferrari so I can accept that this is really happening!

Still the same, depends where you look. Basically rain is guaranteed. They just can't decide on amount. From 1.3mm per hour to 11mm per hour. And other sites just saying heavy storms all day.
 
So a bunch of delayed starts, a procession behind the SC and then red flagged as it gets dark? Half points for the results of qualifying then.

Looks like they have decided against buying themselves time and starting earlier?
 
Early start is out the window.
If they said today at qualifying, people with tickets would know. Most people who watch would know.
Channels with own channel could have shown it live and other could have shown it recorded at the normal slot. Not ideal and they would have lost lots of money through contracts but surly better than a high chance of a 2 lap race behind SC.
 
Yeah that's my point. Starting early would have at least given them options, but it's too late now. I saw they had to decide by Saturday, presumably before qualifying starts and parc ferme kicks in?

I'm not sure you're right there. There are other races that day - the F1 GP is the climax of the weekend - so they could just shuffle the race order.

I think the regulations make it too late now. They can delay the start on the day, but they need to give notice about moving it forward, and that's passed.
